i just found out something SO surreal today......i don't know what to think.....

Hi there,

Today....i just found out that my "Birth-Father" died last year.....

I was adopted as a young child & i recently met my birth-mother.

I was talking to her today,& she told me that she had learned through a friend that my "DAD" was dead.

" I REALLY don't know how to feel about that"!

I have never met him,but knew of him.I also found out that i have MORE brothers & sisters that i never knew i had.....HOW CRAZY IS THAT!!!!

So fellow bloggers of this site men & women alike....

What are YOUR honest thoughts on this...What should i do?

Should i pursue this further,or let it die with his memory?

I know it's a tough one for you,but i would appreciate ANY form of thoughtful comment,OR HELP!!!

Thanks,

Hugs,

D. XXXX

That is a very difficult one...

I think you know what to do - go with your gut and do what you believe is right. You can't go wrong then.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

your heart
will tell you
the answer

I haven't got any idea if he's 'near' you, or if he's even buried or was cremated, but if you feel like wanting to say goodbye, if you can ~ go and do it. If you can't go there to do it, write him a letter. If that doesn't feel 'complete, read it out loud at a favorite spot you have, talk to him.

If you feel you want to meet your 'new' family members ( of course if they want it too ), go for it. Take it slow, you've got a lot on your plate....

Lotzathoughtz.... yet the answer liez within you

wishing you the best in dealing with these new circumstancez

There is a path you will obviously wish to follow as thats a natural part of us as humans, to be inquisative.

Be open minded about what you may find.

My mum & I have been doing our family tree for almost a year & we have unearthed so many twists & turns.

Be prepared to find something you may not like then anything positive is a huge bonus.

If you didnt want to do this you wouldnt of asked our thoughts.

Just have an open mind hun & plenty of people to talk to about anything you unearth. Dont disclude any family members & include your new found mum, if she wishes for this.

Your past is past & the people who brought you up are mum & dad. The people who gave you life are mother & father genetically. It takes more than DNA to make a parent though.

I wish you the very best of luck in this new avenue.

If it was me, I would want to meet my other brothers and sisters just out of curiousity. A song comes into my mind "We are family..." You never know until you do it. You are the only one that truly knows what you need to do. Good luck to you whatever you decide to do. Best wishes.
