Like Anyone Really Cares But Me...

OK. My hair. Got some really hot platinum highlights in my black hair. Haven't been able to keep them up because I have pesky little things to keep up like rent and bills and food...you know. The minor things

Anyway. I'm not sure what I want to do. So I'm gonna ask your opinion dear reader

Should I:
Wait it out and get them redone when I can afford it.
Attempt a touch-up at home
Attempt to go totally blonde at home
Dye it black at home
Dye it red at home
Other...Please leave comment if so

I'm a bad one to ask as I'm always messing with my hair. Several summers ago I dyed mine "shy violet" with the encouragement of my two girls (so I was in my early 40's). Jeff was quiet about his opinion of it, but I know Dave absolutely loved it and was rather amused at the conflict of the color name vs. the real me. LOL

The bottom line is...Do what makes you feel good! You're stunning any way you go!

I once thought of dying the tip of my ponytail red. Kind glad I didn't. Plus, with the new policies at work, I could probably get fired doing that.

Off the subject, I know, but I thought I'd share.

Come into my realm! You aren't afraid...are you?

Don't attempt to go blonde yourself. You need to do a double process and doing that alone, at home, without proper schooling and a license is asking for trouble.

I agree with MissAnnThorpe. If you have even a bit of red pigment in your hair, trying to blonde it results in a weird light yellow hair, and that looks awful on anyone! Especoally on me it did, when I did it as a teenager. Black is more likely to look cool, however if your skin colour is too white, it may look weird as well. Actually, ask your hair dresser when you can afford to go! In the meanwhile, a good-looking cap or a hat helps. Some stripes or different colours always look good, if they're done properly, Thinks me

Best to get this sort of thing done by a professional when you can afford it.

Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life.

Girl, I go through the same thing. I know it ends up looking terrible for a period of time but if you enjoy the streaks I recommend just letting it grow in and when you're abl eot put em back go all out. I'm in that same boat myself. Im saving up for my next hairdresser appt for new streaks

TnWitchy...ooh that color sounds perrrrtttyyy!!

Nicky...it washes out! Workplaces need to realize that some things just aren't as scanalous as they once were.

MissAnn...oh I know! Been there done that. I just wanted to see the NNOOO reactions

Salasana...white? me? honey not even in the dead of winter

Looking...'preciate the offer girlie but I think its just cheaper to get them done here$359 round trip as opposed to $110. Oh and as for light...I want them as light as possible. No boring golden highlights for this girl!

Kitchen...It just feels like it won't happen til my hair is down to the middle of my back! OOh wait but by then it'll all be virgin hair and it's gonna go as white as I want it to! WOO HOO!!

Velvet...meanwhile I think I'll get some semi perm color and switch it up a lil

Princess...Imagine the disaster!

Spunky...I shall wait. Thanks for the compliment

Thanks to all of you for your advice I shall roam the world with 8 inch roots till I can afford to get my hair done by a pro!

Ok im a professional hair stylist and i would recomend you ither wait till you can get it done or just do it all black. Only hting is the black will fade from the highlights over time but if you try to do the bleaching at home you wont get the right shade of blonde your looking for. People dont understand there is alot more to d oing hair than a brush and paint. Good Luck
