world trade towers

I just got back from seeing the movie about the world trade towers.. I've had issues with Oliver Stone as a director in the past...but this movie was powerful. If you see it..bring tissues. I would urge all of you that were impacted that day..to go see this movie. I'm not sure what my emotion is right now...I am pretty proud of my fellow Americans right now though...

I will have to go. My sister worked in the pentagon at the time, so it was close to home for me. But I am morbidly fascinated. I met a firefighter from NYC shortly afterward, and it was amazing...I will blog about it soon! Take care!

Hi Sis,

Wow am really glad you were okay after you saw it...I can imagine how heart wrenching it must have been but to also have the effect of being proud of your fellow Americans at coming together on such a horrific disaster outweighing the other impact has got to be a good thing.

I completely understand your aprehension about Stone... I saw him on celebrity Jeopardy once several years ago... he was plugging a book he had written. Actually, he had written it in the 60's, while in college and in Vietnam. It was published in the late 90's... sounded really good. I got it and couldn't read it at all! It goes so many different directions and run-on sentences... very tiresome. It now makes me cautious about his movies as well.

well my real aversion to Stone is that he gets some bug in his bonnet and then tells some historic event the way that he perceives it.. even if it's wrong.. and since he has made some movie about it.. many people think that his way is the right way... but interesting to know what his writings are like as well...thanks

Im glad you liked the movie. I just returned from NYC and I had a chance to visit ground zero. The feeling is undescribable. Its just to bad I was there for two funeral's. The FDNY lost two more firefighters last week.
