sad/happy

Why does it seem as though some of our children's best accomplishments bring tears to the parent? I went to visit my son today.. thinking that I had one more day to be with him when he came to get his stuff out of my house... he told me today that he will NOT be coming here.. that his girlfriend is going to grab some of the stuff and possibly monday her uncle will get the rest... big shock.. so today, when I hugged him... it was for the last time for a long time. He will be teaching and getting settled... he'll have student debts to pay off... he and his fiance will be poor. I'm already poor and he is going to be far away I did pretty good only teared up a few times. I'm so abundantly proud of him!!! I was good until that last hug. I hung on to him for dear life.. you see these past few years, even though he has lived away, he has been my rock. I've needed good strong shoulders, and he has been that for me. Today was it for free hugs... from now on each hug will be savored and dear. I'm very happy for him... but i'm not going to lie.. my tears tonight are not tears of joy, but tears of a mom saying good bye to her son... One day soon i'm going to write a special blog just for him... thanks for letting me cry tonight....

It is hard Curious...It is good for him to fly his wings as am sure you are thrilled. My son always felt responsible for me and I always told him he is the son and I am the Mama and he should not carry my burden...We have good sons!!!We are blessed!!!
Hugs to YOU,
flo

Freedom is never free. It comes at great cost to our heart and soul.

His freedom to move out on his own has cost you many proud and happy but lonely tears. Now it's our turn to give back to you the warm, loving compassion that you have so freely give to us.

Folding you in my arms.
Holding you tight for as long as it takes.
Cry my kindred spirit. I am here with you.

Tears of Joy, Sweetie... nothing wrong with that! (And, Pssst! Sons shed a few of their own, but won't let Mom see them because it's not cool!)

It's your blog and you can cry if you want to.

I never had any children, but I can imagine your loss.
At least there's phone calls and e-mail. Not much help, but a little, maybe.
