Will Update: Rainy Day Poetry

In the continuing story of Will there are no new events to report. Only a story. He was with us for two days last week and will be at the house three this week. Both nights last week, he came to me for a hug good-night. When I walked into the classroom yesterday morning, he looked hesitantly around at who was watching, then came over and shyly leaned against me....not a hug, but he is 10 and he's a boy and his friends were there. It was pouring rain yesterday and we had to run from one classroom to another building...probably 200 yards or so. So we bundled up and held our notebooks under our coats and ran as fast as possible, splashing through puddles, shrieking and laughing at each other as we slipped and slid. When we reached the other building, Will looked up at me, grinning from ear to ear, water drops pouring down his face, eyes shining and simply said, "That was fun. Let's do it again." There is nothing so pure as a childs joy and, especially coming from this particular child, I couldn't hope to deny it. So we went out and proceeded to spend the next half an hour of classtime frolicking about in the rain and having a wonderful time, before coming in and writing poems about rain. I asked Will if I could share his poem with my parents and he was fine with that, so I hope he won't mind me sharing it with you as well.

If I Were The Rain
By: Will

If I were the rain,
I would look shiny and silvery
Drop to the ground.

I would drop down shining,
Like a rainbow,
Playing on an umbrella
Tapping on the windowpane.

I would make beautiful music.

If I were the rain,
I would drop so lightly.

But, when I am mad,
I'll drop hard!

When I am sad,
I won't drop at all.

When it's cold,
I'll turn into snow.

If I were the rain
I would dance on cars and roads.

If I were the rain
I would think where I should hide.

If I were the rain
I would make people laugh.

If I were the rain
I would make people happy

Not sad.

My daughter is the absolute center of my life.
I do think about her and lover her more than anything else.
But I don't share that side of me on this site.
It's not that I believe people are evil for coming to this site, or wanting sex, or even wanting to cheat on thier partners, o.k. that last part is real fucking evil, a different story kind of. You see, some people who come to this site are really great lonely people who are searching for love. Others are just great people who have love and are searching for fun. Still others (a very small fraction of a percent or homosexual pedifiles who have a preditory instinct and a lot of emotion baggage to unload in massocistic ways, against a child who might embody what they percieved themselves as when they were violated again and again.
Be careful you don't lead one of them to your new poet friend. Because that would be far worse than a tragedy.
My heart bleeds tears and my soul is crushed with sorrow to have to bring this up because those people are out there, and I can't stop them all. I can only do my little part. In this case it is this caveat to you, recieve it with my sincere respect.

My daughter writes poetry too. It is quite good. But I do not post things about her on the internet. Not even on myspace. My ex posts a lot about our children. It gives a stranger a lot of private information about her if they were to want to track her down or con her into thier car.
If anybody ever did anything to her, I would cease to exist as aaron.
I would become death, the destroyer of worlds.

corrections and notes to the above post (caps added to highlight change)...
"... still others (a very small fraction of a percent ARE homosexual pedifiles ...." and continues "what they percieved themselves TO BE when they were violated again and again AS CHILDREN. "

" ... it is this caveat to you, recEIve it with my respect."

well thats it. all the other mispelled words were intentional. (not really, lol).

Wow....and he's 10?! He's a really sensitive little guy and really seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

He is all too lucky to have you in his life.
