A post to the Veterans

I went over to frbnkslady and read such a good post. I being a vet myself, I served behind enemy lines for almost thirteen months. I was in the United States Air Force, and I did not fly a jet. I was in the Transportation Squadron, maintenance specifically. You can call it Motor Pool, we joked that we had the most important job in the Air Force, because we made sure the pilots did not have to walk to their planes.

Now I am sure you are asking. How does a car mechanic end up behind enemy lines for as long as he says he was there? I was not a regular car mechanic, I also worked on other things, Trucks, tanks, anything with wheels or tracks. And in the desert, everything broke down, on a regular basis.

Any way most of the comments were great. Other than this one guy’s, He is sooooo in the dark about the way the American Military works. You see our BOSS is the nations Commander in Chief, The President of the United States. Now let me pose this question to you all, Do you always agree with your BOSS? I have never always agreed with whoever my BOSS is, but I always do follow the BOSS’S orders. Now I’m not saying I agree with this war, But I do support my Troops, for I was one of them. And I am able to say with utmost accuracy most of our troop’s over there do not agree with their BOSS but they are doing their job. Now read on. This is T's post

Rules for the Non Military

Dear Civilians,
"We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation has many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:

1. The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the
National Anthem---kick their ass.

2. When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest---kick their ass.

3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.

4. (GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling others that you used to be "Special Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been
okay when you were seven years old. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.

5. Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, "Do you fly a jet?" Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking (children are exempt).

6. If you witness someone calling the US Coast Guard 'non-military', inform them of their mistake---and kick their ass.

7. Next time Old Glory (the US flag)prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her---of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass-kicking.

8. Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We are Americans, and we all bleed the same, regardless of our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command is to include our Commander-In-Chief (CinC). The President (for those who didn't know) is our CinC regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those representatives meet. All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. If you keep asking us the same stupid questions
repeatedly, you will get your ass kicked!

9. 'Your mama wears combat boots' never made sense to me---stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore, could kick your ass!

10. Bin Laden and the Taliban are not Communists, so stop saying 'Let's go kill those Commies!' And stop asking us where he is! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me---if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers, let me know, so I can go kick their ass!

11. 'Flyboy'(AirForce), 'Jarhead'(Marines), 'grunt' (Army), 'Squid' (Navy), 'Puddle Jumpers'
(Coast Guard), etc., are terms of endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. That could get your ass kicked.

12. Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get it's ass kicked."

"It is the Veteran, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.

"It is the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.

It is the Veteran, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.

"It is the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the
flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

(Please pass this on so I won't have to kick your ass!) "If you can read this, thank a teacher" If
you are reading it in English, thank a Vetran

Okay now I am able to assume you all feel there are some asskickins in order, for I know we all have seen one of these at one point or another, now check out these comments by BrianSmith2000

Those in the military are murderers. To blindly follow an ignoramus like GWB is evidence of their idiocy. Life is filled with tough decisions. "I was just following orders" fell by the wayside a long time ago.

And being the wonderful woman she is T says

frbnkslady replies on 6/6/2006 12:26 am:
Just shows how ignorant you are.. ALL countries have military.. and they protect your right to even spit on them. You should try talking to a few military peeps. MOST are not happy with GWB...try another route...Suppose you are one of the the few that burn the flag too huh??? T

Well not to be out ignoricized ( I know not a word, but hey some one like this deserves his own word) He comes back with these words of wisdom

If I flew a flag, I would most certainly burn it. It's one of those freedoms that your brave soldiers fought for.

Then we get another response from [ blog frbnkslady] ever so wonderful

frbnkslady replies on 6/6/2006 10:46 am:
If you don't like America, why do you not move to a place where you will enjoy repression.
I can assume that NONE in your family has EVER served???

I for one thinks somebody needs an ASSKICKIN

My youngest niece has just graduated from high school and is joining the US Navy! She is doing it for the college benefits. She wants to be a nurse, but that field is full, so she is going into the maintenance field (I think). After her commitment is fulfilled, including some years in the reserve, she will train to be a nurse. That's if she still wants to.

As a current maintainer (aircraft, though) in the USAF, I wholeheartedly agree. I've even resorted to my best "adult" voice when a couple of teenagers at a base theatre were screwing around during the national anthem which, as I'm sure you know, is played at the beginning of every movie in every base theatre. You should have seen the look on their face. It was great.

You go and kick some ass my friend.

We do not always agree with our "boss" and the "boss" we have right now is an ASS!!!

I believe that military (no matter what part of the military you are in) keeps this country running.

As Mr. Fire always says "This country was started by criminals and that's what makes us the strongest country".

Well, Cru, Sugar. I guess I am in just one of my "talkative" moods. Atually though this is just the cut and paste from what I left at frbnkslady.

Another AFFer who will think that I'm nutzoid as hell!!! Ah well, I'm enjoying it, so...*shrug*

Now, I didn't want to give this little cowardly bastard the hit count by responding to him directly, but if anyone is going to send him a cumulative comment, please add this one.

    LittleBoyBrian...

You are obviously attempting to gain some sort of attention by making such inflamatory statements. A bunch of murders? Well, no one has come to your house yet to drag you out in the middle of the night and throw you in a ditch. It's not likely to happen either as our soldiers would step up and put an end to that. In your case, it's a pity, really.

When you are able to stand for something instead of against every thing, maybe others will consider you to be something other than a little boy who just happened to wander into an adult site...a little boy too afraid to even put up any kind of a picture.

Until the time when you have some sort of decency, respect and maturity, you really should be ignored. Well, you really *should* have your ass kicked, but as it's not entirely possible over the computer, I shall just have to be satisfied with that.

Oh, and when you exercise your freedom to burn the flag, many of us will exercise our right to free speech.

I can only sit here and hope that you ignite yourself when you go to burn the Stars and Stripes, you dumbass little coward boy.

I was rather mild out of respect to FB Lady, but know that I don't tolerate such such. Too bad we can't conscript *some* little fuckers, isn't it?
I love it

I went in to get a degree for Sociology, and Psychology. So I could try for my teaching degree. I had one week of Basic Training left when Desert Storm started. I wished things could have gone more towards where I wanted them to, but such is life. Your niece should be able to take alot of the courses she needs for nursing while she is in.

While I do not agree with our commander and chiefs policies, I support each and every member of our military. I thank the people to whom made this possible. To me those people are our military. Thank you all.Respectfully yous.R]

I think as a collected group we got our point across to him. But you pose a very good point "Where would we be now" Well there are many ways things could have went.
1 We could be speaking Japanes.e
2 We could be speaking German.
3 we could have had our asses handed to us.

But due to our young men and women we have not let that happen. Thank you for the wonderful comment
