Wanting a baby...

ok.. so quick history for anyone who dosen;t know... I have PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) which makes it mega hard to get pregnant without medical help.. and most that medical help insists on blood tests... which is a problem because I have a phobia of getting my blood drawn. No I am not over reacting.. I get sick before I'm even in the building where I know I have to get the blood drawn. In fact my throat is tightening right now just thinking about it.

Ok, so this means no babies for me and hubby yet. but today.. I hope... I finally found someone who can help me and really understands where I am coming from. First off.. it's a woman. And all the other "specialists" and such I've seen have been men. Second.. I'm a picky eater.. mostly cause of texture, and this woman is just as picky! like.. can;t stand veggies! loves pasta and breads! All of which I should not be eating to help keep my weight down from this PCOS. All any other doctor has told me is "low-carb diet" well great.. so what does someone who can't choke down a piece of lettuce and is allergic to beef suppose to eat???? low to no carb means like no bread or pasta and east on the fruits... so what's left... a lot of meat. oh that sounds real healthy...

So anyway.. this nurse.. she's gonna be taking care of me. and not just trying to get me pregnant.. though that is a major goal.. but helping me control ALL of the things the come with PCOS. And she's realistic.. told me how ~I~ can change in little ways what I eat to reduce the carbs without giving up nearly two food groups.. she's starting me on an exercise plan so simple... my dogs can do it.. in fact they are. I finally feel like someone who knows what they are talking about and really understands me is finally in the picture. I mean.. I was so excited today.. when I went out to lunch.. I actually used the diet sheet she gave me to order my lunch... and I loved what I had.. I didn;t have to "settle". I think I"ve finally found my answer.

Ok.. so.. here's my challenge to all of you.. esp my friends.. help encourage me to stick with this.. for my health, both now and in the future, and for my chance at a baby finally. Don;t be pushy.. just ask me when you see me if I'm sticking too it.. the guilt of having to answer you "no" will be enough to keep me going.

I think that wanting a baby is enough to keep you going on this diet. I give people like you, those who want a baby and have trouble getting pregnant, a lot of credit!!

I am sending you all of my blessings for you to have a child. It is the most precious thing in the world to have life inside of you. Good luck and God Bless!!

Good luck with it all. I was blessed and never had any problems concieving or delivering. I have had a few other meicial issues that it seemed to take forever to get through because I felt like I was talking to a wall when attempting to voice my opinion and preferences. I work with doctors everyday and most are pretty good and understanding people that want to help. Then you have the ones that have the "I am God I know better" complex they make me so mad when I have to deal with them. Your lucky you now have a good one. Again LUCK!~Simlpy~

Hmmm, you have a damn good idea - having people ask about your diet. Count me in.

My partner and I have spent the last year in the assisted fertility world. We were finally able to conceive, but there was a lot of unnatural work involved. Do your best to focus on yourself and your partner and don't be too hard on yourself. Best wishes for success.

I wish the best for you. You can do anything you want as long as you set goals you want to achieve, and then focus hard on them. Being in the ARMY I've had experiences that have shown me what the human body can withstand. You stick with it, and before long what you are doing will become second nature, and you will conquer the "not-knowing hump" that we all seem to get stuck on at one point or another in life. GOOD LUCK. Stay strong. I'll keep you in my prayers. Bye4now.
