In the noble words of OZZY "MAMA I"M COMIN' HOME"

Well, I spent last night sleeping atop a large pile of duffle bags in the middle of a concrete slab waiting on a plane flight out of Kuwait. True to Army form, my unit got bumped by a unit from Louisianna. I am not upset about that in anyway. For one, those guys are going home to clean up the mess that Katrina caused so they will have to stay on active duty orders and needlesstosay, they have a tough road ahead of them. Can you imagine spending a year in one of the more dangerous parts of Iraq and then when your mission is complete and you are expecting to go home and relax with a cold one in your hand, you redeploy to build back your hometown that was destroyed while you were gone? I feel for them boys. I got a little scare a few days ago when that hurricane was headed towards South Carolina. Rumor had it that my unit was going to be put in that same predictament since we are from there. The other reason I am not upset about not getting to fly is because I hate to fly. Believe it or not but, I am Airborne Infantry. I earned my wings back in 97' and then spent a year in 1st Ranger Battalion in Savanna, GA. When I tell people I am scared to fly in aplane they always question that fact. What's the difference? Well, flying back then meant I always had access to a parachute!! Anyway if I can endure my fear of flying for about 18 hours I will be back on American soil, and let me tell you, it will be well worth the flight!! Peace through Supreme Firepower an I am outta here!!
