I think the news is lying

Everyday I hear on how the economy is great. Personally I think they are full of it. I base how the economy is on how people spend money. People are buying lots of new cars, but have you noticed that the car manufactures are practically giving them away with the financing deals? Some of the biggest of them are in serious financial trouble.

I’m have a lot of dealings with the new home construction. It amazes me at what ends these contractors will go to cut corners. People are spending money to make the kitchen counter tops look good but in turn put in the cheapest water heater man can produce and then stick it in the worst location possible. They do this to save a few dollars. These homes may be pretty but in a few years I think they will be paying for in ways they had not even considered.

What brings all this to mind is that I’m in a need based business. What I provide most all homes have and most will not live without it. Sounds like a wonderful business doesn’t it. What I’ve noticed in the last several months is that people cannot afford to have there stuff fixed and are going to some unusual measure to avoid paying for it. Most of the bills I submit are between $100 & $250. The majority of people just cannot afford this. Must be wonderful economy we have if an average family cannot afford a bill that small for something they need.

Most people are telling me is that they are not able to work any overtime and they are making about the same money they did 4 to 5 years ago. Every utility has gone up quite a bit in that time. Gas prices are terribly higher and the list just goes on.

I would have thought the Republican party could have done a better job at keeping the economy alive. I know it was already on a down trend when they took over but I would have thought things would have stabilized by now and be in full swing again. I hate to say it, but I think I will be looking forward to seeing the democrats back in office.

The news is never the absolute truth nor transparent. News agencies only tell us what they want the public to know. That's to maintain their reputation and save their financial standing. They definitely don't want to mess with any of their big investors what more with the government. Apart from that, do you know that there is a lot of bullshit going on in news concerning Asian countries such as Malaysia? You know how bad they try to portray us when we're not as bad as the locations they choose to report their live news.

p/s: I hope you don't need a watermelon

I haven't been able to keep up with the world news much over the last few weeks, so if anything new has happened I may be out of the loop. I have noticed that over the years different news agencies have a tendancy to tilt the news coverage to suit who is telling it.

I haven't met a watermelon that had the right personality for me

i am with you on all of the bullshit about the economy..it's NOT better. and companies are always laying off their permanenet empoyees who are paid well to have someone else do the job for less pay and they wonder why people could give a rat's ass about their corporate bottom line and only worry about thier personal bottom line...

loyalty doesn't pay in the corporate world.

What's bad is some corporations expect loyalty after they fire you because they found someone cheaper.
