...sigh... 18. The Quiet Man, John Wayne at his finest... Hearing him say the words... "There'll be no locks or bolts between us Mary Kate - except for those in your own mercenary little heart." Sound familiar?

19. Under the Tuscan Sun, that was a beautiful movie as well.... but C, it had the theme of "woman must have man to be happy". Maybe this is just my thinking...lol

I'm not sure I can come up with 20 films right now because I like so many but here are a few favourites in addition to your choices of Love Actually (the marriage proposal and translation must be one of the funniest scenes from any movie, Notting Hill (I love the way it portrays London) and The Mummy 1 and 2 (Indy type action brought up to date):

1. Forest Gump - OK, it can be a little corny but its such an otimistic film and deals with human nature and that's always interesting !

2. LA story - my favourite romantic comedy - a perfect mix
of comedy and romance - wonderful!

3. A fish called Wanda - really funny : especially because it makes fun of the English, Russians, Italians .... !

4. Nine and a half weeks - sometimes the story is a little
odd/crap but the sex scenes are so hot ! ....

5. Alien, Aliens etc. - really imaginative, really tense, really scary ! : great !

6. Apolcalypse Now - tense, dreamlike, great soundtrack, brilliant war movie.

7. About a boy - uhhhhhhh, I can associate with the lifestyle of the character that Hugh Grant plays .... (and I don't mean hanging around at single parent meetings to cheat mothers !).

8. Highlander 1 and 2: escapism from our daily lives at its very best.

9. Bladerunner: brilliant, brilliant .... atmospheric scenes, fantastic soundtrack .... why is it so so difficult to get it in DTS in Europe ???

10. Gladiator: epic and wonderful story! plus lots of blood and guts !

Live with passion !

Yet another great list. I saw Silence of Lambs listed once before and the only thing I have to say is that the book was by far better than the movie...but considering all that was in the book...the movie was pretty good and Anthony Hopkins as Lecter was PERFECT!~

Hey C~, I was going to put "Legends of the Fall" on my list but I already had two Brad Pitt movies. I overlooked "Field of Dreams", but saw someone else mentioned it. If I could have another ten or twelve picks, other comedies I would add: Spaceballs, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Dumb & Dumber, Mr. Mom, Big, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, at least 1 of the original Pink Panther movies, Shanghai Noon, I-Spy, & Napoleon Dynamite only if you watch it with a kid.
