Is it all about looks??

It's been an interesting couple of weeks on this site with not having a pic up. I went into different chat rooms to meet people and had a few people in my network, and not one of them asked me what I was about or what I wanted or to really get to know who I am, it was always do you have a pic, or talk to you when you get a picture,Is it all about looks? It's sad to report it is, from the responses I got.

It’s in the nature of this site, people want to start relationships that will eventually lead to intimacy, be it a one night stand or something more long term. With this goal in mind its not surprising that people want to know what you look like. That said, it is very sad that no one wanted to know anything more about you than that. After all you can't have a relationship with a picture can you? Hope things improve for you, don't give up.

Not necessarily. You could be a man posing as a woman, for instance. But I do agree that looks are important to a lot of people, myself included. It would be a huge waste of time chatting with someone and getting to know them, only to find out that you aren't attracted to them physically. Sorry to say, but that's the nature of the beast.

classic...unfortunately it is in a way...With so many women with pics up you need to have a visual posted to get noticed.

Hello 'beauty', I must say that it is refreshing to be able to put a picture to the words that are coming across the screen. I, for example, am a very visually oriented person. That doesn't mean that I am shallow or think it's all about looks by any means... I just am more comfortable "chatting" to what appears to be a real person, even if the pic isn't really of the person on the other end which I am sure it often isn't. And even without a pic, I love corresponding with people who have character and style. Sometimes we as human beings just need a little push to start conversations with peaple that we know (or think we know) are real, but maybe that's just me...
Good luck and send me a note if you get bored...

I get that all the time too. To me a picture is just a picture, I would prefer to have a quick meet for coffee first, then take it from there. Even if there is no attraction you may still end up with a friend. Keep on with your search!!
