Normal is hard

The weather in England is fantastic at the moment. We have temperatures in the 30s (Celsius) which is more like Mediterranean weather.

In the heat I'm living a simple life - avoid public transport (too smelly in London), move as slowly as possible and spend as much time as I can in my garden drinking chlled white wine.

The consequence is my life is very dull - I've been desperate to add to my blog but I've done nothing worth reporting.

Oh to be on a yacht in the Caribbean with a Russian oligarch with caviar, champagne and primal intimacy.

Must go now, I've got the ironing to finish!

Figure out what you have to do to be there and do it.

Marco Polo you're right as in rational, logical, etc. I went throught that thought process and had problems - first it wouldn't be me and second I'm not prepared to give up some of the things I have - like my career, independence, etc. for that. I guess I was thinking out loud in my blog - I don't think it does any harm to dream.

Blogs don't have to be about what you've done. They can be about what you think. This is more sensitive but more therapeutic. There aren't enough blogs about what people think.

When I was 13 I found the diary of a girl I really liked. It had fallen out of her bag and she'd left it behind. I kept hold of it for 24 hours and tortured myself about whether or not to have a look. I held out for roughly 8 hours which, in a 24 hour period, makes me about 1/3 of a good person. I opened up the pages and began to read...

Went shopping with Lisa.

Got on the bus and it got stuck at the lights in North Street for about fifteen minutes. Bummer!

Met Cath for lunch. She had a salad but I was wicked and had a pasty. My thighs will be like pillows tomorrow.
I needed have tortured myself.

Tutle, thanks for your comment. You've proably noticed that most of my blog entries are my reactions, thoughts and feelings about what I'm experiencing.

That post came from looking at how long it had been since my last blog entry. I don't feel any obliagtion to write stuff here, it was more a comment on the weather, the way I've been living as a consequence and a fleeting insight into my imagination.

I'm amazed that you have total recall of a diary you read, what, over 20 years ago. That must prove that her writing was really profound. I can't even remember the Shakespeare I learnt at school!!

Hi Cindi,

Thanks for your comment about my comment Unfortunately, I remember almost everything I hear or read - boring diaries, big cat diaries, even the Shakespeare I learnt at school. I have an unusually absorbent mind.

Any good tips for forgetting would be most welcome, as I can't even drink to forget because I remember that as well
