A pleasant weekend

Living in a shared house, I really treasure those moments I get alone, when I'm on my own in the house and I know for certain that nobody's going to come it. Those moments don't come very often, sadly.

So I jumped at the chance when my boss asked me to house-sit for her this weekend. I spent most of the weekend playing with her cat, reading my book (can I just take a moment to heartily recommend Lisa Jewell) and watching DVD's, sprawled on the sofa with the cat on my lap and a glass of wine within easy reach.

By Sunday evening I was in need of company so very pleased when a friend invited me round for dinner. It was nice to spend time with people who I choose to be friends with.

I really need to live alone again... I am promised a decent raise sometime in the New Year so I will start looking for studios and small flats then!

Glad you got some time on your own over the weekend, being in your own company is seriously underrated in my opinion!

Good luck with getting your own place in the new year

Thanks Tabs. I used to live alone - in France and in Italy - so moving back into shared accommodation has really felt like a step back for me, even though it's just because rents are so much higher here than in those countries.
