Mrs. V, Deb and I continued to have our rendezvous over the course of the next year until my father (whose parents were getting up in years) decided that we should move to Panama City, Florida where their home was. This was 152 miles from our present home in Chickasaw, Alabama.
I left Mobile with a new appreciation of the feminine and a magnitude of experience.
We arrived in P.C. the last week of August 1961 (John F. Kennedy was our new President) just a week before school was to start. I still remember the awkwardness of being 15 and having to leave friends behind to get reestablished.
At Mowat Junior High I found acceptance as part of the football team and begin to shape new friends both male and female.
My one and only year at Mowat found me with very little time for girls.
My very first heart throb would come in the summer of my sixteenth year. She was a brown-eyed beauty with shoulder length auburn hair name Sandra.
I fell like a brick!
