Twist 5 : Switch me on; Turn me off (I)

Flickering memory is like a candle in the wind ; environment deals blows we can't avoid.

If there's bits of us left when stillness arrives, we make a come back easily. By then will fear or weariness succumb our wills and we wait for life to burn out silently.

If not will we brace ourselves and take each blows as it comes, fight by throwing flames back at it or learn to lick each blow artfully ... hoping our flames land on new fuels.

The worn out wooden door, mourns a low hunting pitch when Ongelic pushed it slowly open. The familiar scent of burning incense droused the dimly lit doorway. Ghostly lines of smoke, gyrated slowly, welcoming her home.

A low muttering of the familiar tune followed by an arrogant snort were hurled at her, when her back was turned to close the door.

"Stupid Rice Bucket" "Useless Teapot"...."what do you know about luck"...."girls doesn't need so much education"...."you are old enough to earn your own living"...."stay out of my business or else"...

She look ahead blankly, trying not to get incensed by the harsh condemnation, her dad, had strung up for her in brash hokkien.

Anger got to her, she slammed her hand on the table and screamed "Shutup". He raised his hand, she ran into her room and closed the door. He cursed and sworned on his ill fortunes.

Ongelic closed her eyes... shut out the curses... and eloped again with imagination to a land call Solace.

I rather find that memories are candles, yes, but not flickering, and what changes is instead the light in our soul, so that memories get stronger when darkness seeps in. Oh, the beauty of untrodden ways.

Never argue with an idiot. He brings you down to his level then beats you with experience
