Finally Free of the Flock

A few notes from my thanksgiving trip. The family always spends the thanksgiving holiday at my grandmother’s farmhouse. This year there were 44 people attending thanksgiving dinner. This was down ten from last year. I don’t have to tell all you introverts out there that that’s a lot of people to handle. I noticed that there were at least four of us that had to get out and spend a few minutes, just to be alone. It’s a funny thing about extroverts, which most of the people in this world are and I’d say about 80%, they just don’t seem to understand what it’s like to be an introvert. They enjoy getting together and mingling so much that they don’t they can’t understand how someone can find it to be so taxing. After just two days I found my willpower and motivation completely drained. My only desire was to go home and I still had three days left to contend with the teaming masses. This is why it has taken a couple of days after returning from my trip to get back to writing. Of course I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy the trip, I always do. But most of things I enjoyed about the trip were those breaks away from the hoard of family members with just one or two of my closer family members. Maybe I’ll write about them later. I’ll try to close up with a point before I start rambling incessantly. To all of you extroverts out there be aware of how tough gatherings can be for introverts and don’t begrudge us of our breaks were not trying to be rude. I guess you could say this is one lamb who is glad to be rid of his flock.

That's very true man. I'm normally an extrovert, however I'm more of an introvert around my family. Actually, come to think of it, I think I have a completely different personality around my family. Maybe I should seek a professional opinion.....

E how many peeps are in your family? My grandmother(who will soon be 90) had ten kids 6 girls and 4 boys who all but the first one had at least two kids(the first one Aunt M only had one child.) Now the grandchildren are starting to have children. You can see how the numbers start to add up. Its all very frightening.

As for the absenteeism, I have had family around for so long I was starting to feel internet deprived.

Oh, man, if I start to count? Let me see, the ones that are still living, and always showed up for every Holiday: that would be around 30
