if it was all happiness and light i'd be more worried

tip for the day:

if at all possible, avoid changing a tire while wearing a corset. in the rain. in a dress.

good thing i always wear sensible shoes.i had a lot of kicking to do!

but i do enjoy being competent. there was a scary moment where i actually called AAA becuase both of my scissor jacks were jammed and this car sits so low that my hydraulic jack won't even fit under it

but i got the scissor jack with the least corrosion unjammed with a cabinet head screwdriver i always carry and called AAA back to cancel. that's the problem with always having tires go flat in the rain. your jacks get corroded.

and i can't believe i actually didn't have any WD40 in the car. i have no idea why. it's in my damn laundry "room." i may have been working on my hand truck with it. i don't really know. i just know i won't be doing that again.

so i never made it to the club last night, as you may have guessed by now.

and i have to make it to friday on my mini spare, so not too much driving will be going on most likely. it's hard to get used to tripling my stopping distance and reducing my maximum speed.

looks like i may not be able to afford that trip to FL after all.

see, i was turning from capital south onto peace street. there's a pothole there and it was filled in with water. i don't make that turn all too often so i wasn't sure of the exact location of the pothole., the whole road was shiny and black. well apparently i hit it and just slid right off the water. which sent me sideways (with of course the regular forward momentum from being in a moving vehicle) into the curb.

so hard that i didn't just flatten the tire. i smashed the wheel. the tire is under warranty but the wheel.... that's going to be some money. i hope i can get one used for a reasonable price.

and of course my alignment is off now. and the back wheel is pretty ugly too. just cosmetic though. part of the edge of that rim is the main thing pinning the hubcap in.

when it's lighter out i'll get some pictures before i take a mallet to it and try to push most of the hubcap clips back in if i can.

after all that mess i decided to skip the club (as it was around midnight anyway) and just hang out with my friend who doesn't sleep much anyway.

but hey, the best news is that the $4 dress from goodwill held up nicely, even on the asphalt in the rain. the nastiest part is i now have to dry my leather coat. wet leather STINKS!

Sorry about the tire. That kind of stuff sucks.

Sorry about your mishap! Your handle says it all! I am just glad to hear you are back in "corset wearing" condition. You know how that piece of attire affects me.

your nick seems kind of apt. I read your last 2 posts - one had the catastrophe sorrounding the flat tyre and the jack (wabbit) and the previous one about the server down-time at this site and the concomitant profile mis-match your faced ....

Just a wandering thought - is it a catastrophe when you castrate the apostrophe?
