......on this roller coaster of life........

Survived a wild Monday. Was there a full moon last night?? The natives were restless at work today.

Had a very enlightening conversation with a good friend today regarding growing old. I work in a nursing home, so I see "old" daily. What this conversation was about, however, was growing old with someone... We've all heard that life is like a big roller coaster. There are times you sit in the seat alone, nobody beside you, only others in front of you or behind you. And you're ok with a couple of rides alone. But it's always better to have someone beside you on this roller coaster.... laughing hard, screaming wildly, feeling the rush of the changing patterns, the steady climb to the top, plunging to the bottom of the first dive... All the ups and downs... Eventually you come to the end, and the ride is over.

I'm not sure how others feel about this, but I've been on the roller coaster alone for a while... I have friends who ride with me occasionally, but have yet to find the "one" who will ride with me all the time. The one who will be there at the end of the ride... And I'm ok with this at this point, but I don't want the ride to end only to look beside me and discover that I've come to the end of the ride alone.....

Well stated, young lady! Mr. Almost Perfect(really, that's as good as it gets) is out there somewhere. Just keep looking, 'cause he's looking for you.

PS On this roller coast you really do want more ups than downs.

I do know this... I just have those days when I think that maybe Mr. Almost Perfect has already passed me by. Strangely enough, I'm not afraid to ride alone..... I'd just like to not have to.

Just make sure you find someone who you don't end up hating that still sticks around! Happens all the time! LOL

I've been married twice....both times to the wrong "rider"... Maybe I'm lucky enough that the ones I would've ended up hating have already come and gone in my life...

Well said, girlie. It's not as much fun when you're riding alone. (insert big stevie hug here)

I know your riding partner is waiting up at the queue-house for you. He needs someone to go with him too. Hope he smells nice though, it can get hot on those July Saturdays at the park, huh?

I told ya, you and I are gonna be together when we're old, lol. We're gonna terrorize the nursing home together! we'll sneak into each other's room at night just to piss off the staff, lol.

I've already got rooms reserved for us! And sneaking into each other's room will drive them nuts.... Night shift has the least amount of staff... Remind me sometime to tell you some of the great night shift stories.....lol
