What a week!

My friends, I have had such an exhausting, but fun week.....

Tuesday was the start of it. of course it was Valentines Day. I woke up, turned on my puter, and checked my mail...to find a lovely message from my Brit. My Valentine's gift from him? News that he'll be here next week. YAY!!! Oh man, he makes me so WET!

Wednesday was the only uneventful day, except that I had puter problems. I have high speed, with a router so my daughter's puter and mine can both be online at the same time. For whatever reason, I kept getting that 'page cannot be displayed" page. I rebooted and still got the message. So I spent at least an hour on the phone with tech support to get it straightened out. By the time I could get online, it was too late and I went to bed.

Thursday, I packed an overnight bag and set off for work. My daughters were outside in the car waiting for me after work, and we headed off to pick up my sister, then off to Boston for the night. We stayed in a hotel, got up the next morning bright and early, and took the T downtown to Filene's Annual Bridal Sale. You want to see some crazy women, go to this event sometime!

The doors open at 8AM...the first people in line were there at 1:30AM!!! We were toward the end of the line, with about 150 people in front of us. At 8, the doors opened. By the time we got through the doors, there was not a dress on the racks. Women were hoarding them, with 5-10 gowns in their arms!

Then the bargaining began.

"I have a size 12 for a size 6"

"Does anyone have a size 14?"

"Looking for a size 4."

I approached a group of women who must have had 20 gowns. "Excuse me, when we finally got in here, there were no dresses left on the racks. Do you have any you'd be willing to part with?" Fortunately she was a nice young lady and gave me three. So our fun began.

Every now and then, we'd hear a cheer, a whoop, and applause. Another bride found her gown. All the ones she had would go back on a rack, clean pickings for someone else.

My daughter must have tried on 35 - 40 wedding gowns. Most she didn't like. Some she did, but they were not "The Dress". Therr hours later, when she was starting to get discouraged, we heard my sister: "I FOUND IT! I FOuND THE DRESS!!!"

When I saw that gown on her, I got all choked up! "Oh my God, how beautiful you look!" Sis and other daughter agreed. A few strangers stopped and said how gorgeous it looked on her. The four of us looked at each other and gave out one collective whoop! WHOOOO HOOOO!!!! Applause and shreiks, and it was sealed.

A $2,000.00 wedding gown, for $499!

Yesterday, we got together and went bridesmaid gown shopping, but had no luck. Then back to her place to make favors for the wedding.

Today is recouperation day, nothing planned, nowhere to go. Jusr relax and savor the day.

So what did you do exciting last week?

Kisses & Hugs,

~Friendship is a gift given from the heart and treasured forever~

I just can't even imagine. That would make my head spin for sure. LOL... my daughter was lucky, her mother in law...works for a bridal gown place....and so thru her my daughter was able to get a very, very beautiful and expensive wedding dress for a very good price. I'll have to send you a pic of her in her wedding dress the day of the wedding...so beautiful. Glad it all worked out for you and for your daughter. I hope finding bridemaid dress's will go smoothly.

~~~ Just me, poppin to say HI! ~~
Always seems like so much hoopla for something thats over in under 5 minutes. Must be one of them estrogen things, that's why I just don't get it. LMAO. But glad you found what you wanted, hope it turns out to be a wonderful affair for all involved. Later
