Your Sexual Behaviour

~~~~~~~~ Welcome to Sexual Health and Sex Guide. ~~~~~~~~~~
Your Sexual Behaviour
I just read a fascinating article on human sexual behaviour. It suggested asking yourself the following questions to give yourself a greater understanding of your own sexual behaviour.
1. What does sex mean to you? Is it just recreational, or does it have an emotional connection?
2. How has your background influenced your attitudes about sex?
3. Do you carry any biases about sex that cause you to sabotage your sexual fulfillment?
4. How does it feel to think of the other person being sexual with other people?
5. How do you feel about monogamy?
6. How do you want to feel after sex? Is it enough to feel "that was fun", or do you want it to signify "something special is happening with this person"?
7. Does sex make you feel closer to the other person or more distant?
8. Does it cloud your judgment about whether he or she is a good fit with what you want in a partner?
9. Do you view sex as a "bridge" to a deeper commitment?
10. Do you automatically assume that a date is going to turn into sex?
11. Do you just go along with what the other person wants, or do you see your own choice in the matter?
12. Do you know how to decline an invitation to sex if it doesn’t feel right?
13. Is it important to you to discuss safe sex with partners before engaging in sexual activity?
14. What role do drugs or alcohol play in your sexual decision-making?
15. Do you disrupt day-to-day activities for sex or plan them around sex?
16. Do you lie about, keep secret or gloss over the number of or nature of your sexual encounters?
17. Does thinking about or planning sex occupy a large portion of your time?
18. Do you sometimes make irrational or impulsive decisions about sex?
19. Do you respect sex partners, or do you see them mostly as sexual objects?
20. Have you become numb or abusive to sexual partners?
Food for thought! Share your thoughts with any of the questions.
My answers are in comments.
1. What does sex mean to you? Is it just recreational, or does it have an emotional connection? To me sex mean a complete bonding of mind, soul and body. Giving and receiving the ultimate pleasure you can receive.
2. How has your background influenced your attitudes about sex? Sex was not talked about in my family. I learned from trial and error like most people. Read good books about sex and lovemaking to expand my knowledge. Still learning more each day. I'm open to trying new sexual fulfillment.
3. Do you carry any biases about sex that cause you to sabotage your sexual fulfillment? No.
4. How does it feel to think of the other person being sexual with other people? I feel that each person should determine their own sexual desires.
5. How do you feel about monogamy? I believe in a monogamous relationship.
6. How do you want to feel after sex? Is it enough to feel "that was fun", or do you want it to signify "something special is happening with this person"? I believe sex is fun and something special is happening with my lover. It is more than just a physical release.
7. Does sex make you feel closer to the other person or more distant? I feel that sex brings you closer together and a very important part of a relationship.
8. Does it cloud your judgment about whether he or she is a good fit with what you want in a partner? No, sex is just part of a relationship for me. If there are other good qualities in the relationship, I would stay in it and try to improve our sex live.
9. Do you view sex as a "bridge" to a deeper commitment? Yes, enjoying a quality sexual relationship is very important to me for a deeper commitment.
10. Do you automatically assume that a date is going to turn into sex? No, I do not assume anything with a date. Just to have a fun time talking and getting to know each other personalities. I like becoming friends before having a sexual relationship.
11. Do you just go along with what the other person wants, or do you see your own choice in the matter? I think it is important to consider what the other pesrson wants out of a relationship and does not have to be all my way.
12. Do you know how to decline an invitation to sex if it doesn’t feel right? Yes, if the chemistry and personality is not there for me, I will not presue a sexual encounter just to have sex.
13. Is it important to you to discuss safe sex with partners before engaging in sexual activity? Yes, it is very important to me. I have never had a STD, and do not plan on getting any.
14. What role do drugs or alcohol play in your sexual decision-making? No, I never used drugs and the use of alcohol was never a decision to have sex.
15. Do you disrupt day-to-day activities for sex or plan them around sex? It all depend on the situations at the time.
16. Do you lie about, keep secret or gloss over the number of or nature of your sexual encounters? No.
18. Do you sometimes make irrational or impulsive decisions about sex? Never.
19. Do you respect sex partners, or do you see them mostly as sexual objects? I have the upmost respect for my partner.
