Mothers Banners Hanging Proudly

In most every chat session or picture taken with my webcam, you will notice I have two Mother's Flags hanging on the wall behind me.

What are they? They are flags given to Mother's by various AM-Vets or American Legions to honor the Mothers of those serving during wartime/in combat. Red Bordered, white filed with a Blue star for each child serving, indicates that the child(ren) is/are alive and serving. Should the child lose thier life during a time of war, a gold star is placed within the blue one to indicate an honorable death.

They hang on my wall proudly. Blue stars, thankfully. One for my Son's current Unit deployment overseas, and One for the Tsunami relief effort he participated in late Dec 2004, Jan and Feb 2005.

I also carry with me a Marine Mothers Coin as well as his Operation Iraqi Freedom Coin.

God Bless our Service Members and thier Mothers.

I just received the new Sgt Grit Magazine yesterday, and now, I don't have the New (or any old) "just" Marine Corps Coins. Just the two I talked about. Would love to have more and buy some for my Son, but it's just not in the budget.
