I want to go back...

I want to go back...

Back to the days when my mind was fascinating.

Back to the days when my body was irrestible.

Back to the days when your voice deepened with pleasure at hearing mine on the phone.

Back to the days when we were scrubbed, shaved and sweet-smelling every moment.

I want to go back...

Before darkness descended.

Before you learned I can be cruel.

Before we learned of stubble, morning breath and dirty socks.

Before the fall from grace.

I chew the apple, let it nourish me.

And, I wonder if you will savor the apple or if you will find it too bitter.

How open and insightful you are, to your own self and emotions...

Rare is the one who can not only dig down so deep, but also bring it to the surface - for yourself and others to see...

Thank you for your kind words. I'm not sure it's that much fun being in a relationship with me, though. I think too damn much and most people don't want to read about their own lives broadcast in public.

I want to go back to a time when my only responsibility was to do well in school.

Oh, the pressure of tests and papers to be written! Don't know if I could handle it.

i wanna go back when the only concern you had was hoping it didnt rain outside so you could go and play.....

I like those days, watching the rain and then stomping in the puddles. I wanna go back there with you.

Stubble, morning breath and dirty socks? That's the good stuff - The foundation. I believe that's what makes the facade permanent. But I could be wrong. Good post!

Interesting concept about how "stubble, morning breath and dirty socks" make the relationship more real, stronger. Only time will tell, huh?

Nice! I like it! This idea of really accepting each other, warts and all, is a good one!

In order to have polyamory one must first have one love and love is about accepting the shadow with the light. (Try as we might, we can't seperate light and shadow.)

I heard a folk singer perform live. She sang a song about her grandfather helping her grandmother through the tough times that Alzheimer's disease brings with it. When she finished the song, she said, "and next, a love song!"

I piped up and said, "What do you think you just sang?"

She paused, bit her lip, and nodded appreciatively.

How beautiful. Thank you for sharing that example. It also illustrates my latest question:

Is Pain Necessary for Pleasure?

learn to find one that loves to clutch the rose and the thorns.

Its good to be...ME

bipolybabe replies on 8/10/2006 4:20 am:
That's a man I'd like to find, one who embraces the thorn as well as the rose. Thanks for the thought. If you have details on where to find such an animal, I'd love to know.

Do you fuck on first dates?
Does yer dad own a brewery?
Could I feel yer tits?
Or would ya show 'em to me?
If the answer is 'No'
To me questions above ..
Then be a good sport
and gimme the name
Of a friend who does!'

bipolybabe replies on 8/10/2006 4:20 am:

You can't go back, if I could I wouldn't have gray on my chin. Loved the post but curse BPB for making me think.

The curse of thinking...that's one I do to myself all too often.

i have a friend who said the natural time limit for a love affair is three months. after that it becomes more............and less

whispers - it's why i don't want to go live with D. who needs the reality of cleaning his toilet?

eeeeeek - does that make me a realist or just a chicken??

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

bipolybabe replies on 8/10/2006 4:23 am:
Geez, I've barely managed to get a good month and a half out of this one. I wonder if I've cheated myself somehow.

Dirty bathrooms may be part of life, but they're not necessarily the best part.

And, now I've got a question you'll appreciate:

Is Pain Necessary for Pleasure?

I don't want to go back....I want to be present.......which eventually takes me to the future...Back is for learning...the present is for peak experiences...and the future is for hope. Nice post. Thanks.

bipolybabe replies on 8/10/2006 5:11 pm:
I like that, the present is for peak experiences. And, preferably not pique experiences.
