Don't you hate it when...

Hi All you happy people out in cyberspace!

Just getting back online! I was told that my messenger was sending out messages without me!

Well, the operation was a success, the adware was removed, but the patient died, ie, I lost my Ethernet! We're up and running here again, but I'm still installing all the other programs that were lost in the repair.

Since I'm pretty frustrated at the moment, I was hoping some of you could lend some sympathy.

I've got virusware, two levels of firewall (Router and PC), and I keep my windows XP automatically alerting me of updates, but some adware got in when I installed some shareware. I think it's getting ridiculous!

What do you people think?

adware hides in almost anything you download. Had a nice case of it on my laptop, kept rewritng the registry.

glad you are back!

That happened to me once. Then, my boyfriend came over & fixed the problem. (He is a Computer Tech). Now, I don't really have any problems. I run Spybot Search & Destroy, SpywareBlaster, and Ad-Aware SE all the time just to make sure I am safe! If you don't already have these programs, you should download them! They're great!

Best of luck with your computer woes, my friend!

Thanks Amber, I'm more of a do-it-yourself, self-made man, when it breaks, I fix it. Something about raising 5 kids and supporting 3 households makes my budget a little tight.
