Sometimes In Life, You Just Have To Say...

FUCK IT!

If the best-laid plans go awry...
If another radio station turns me down...
If nothing is going your way...

Well, sometimes we just have to say FUCK IT, because life simply works that way.

While chatting with AF1...

You know what? Since I'm all in the "FUCK IT!" mode, I'm just going to reveal who she is. She doesn't care anymore, and some of the more alert bloggers have probably figured it out already. But in case you haven't, AF1 is PassionKisses4Me, a.k.a. Becky. (AF2 is BBWinJC, in case you were wondering.)

So anyway, Becky was telling me about how her best-laid plans of moving to the heartland of America to be with her sweetie went awry because of her mother wanting to move, as well as a college closer to her having a master's degree course that she has been coveting. And, for reasons I can't fathom, she asked for my advice. Dr. Phil I'm not, but my advice was to say "FUCK IT" Probably not the best advice, but she got a kick out of it. And it's true; sometimes that's all you can say. Because as much as you'd like to control life, it's not happening. Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans, as John Lennon eloquently stated once.

And "FUCK IT!" has become my new motto as far as searching for a job. If I have to move to Atlanta and move in with my brother, so be it. Odds are, it's going to happen, and besides, my brother's got some good connections. (Perks of practically running one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in Atlanta.) I'm hoping that, if Atlanta is where I end up, his connections can help me get a job. Hey, I've seen nepotism used against me so many times; for once, nepotism should work in my favor, you know?

(We'll see if my "FUCK IT" attitude holds up on this issue, however, especially when the time to move approaches. Don't be shocked if I waffle here.)

And tonight, I got to talk to MamChelle on the phone. Despite some awkward silence, the conversation went well, and who knows, maybe we'll get to meet one day. She seemed really nice on the phone, and seems like someone I would like to meet. There is that issue of distance (she's 230+ miles away from me), but hey, I've taken long bus rides before...

And really, dropping everything just to see someone would fit in with my "FUCK IT!" mantra quite nicely, wouldn't it?

Again, we'll see how long (and if) my new mantra holds up...

"Today may be the first day of the rest of your life, unless you live on the other side of the International Date Line, then yesterday was the first day of the rest of your life."- Larry Andersen
