Disappointment, but only for a Moment!

I have come to the following conclusion:
We concentrate too much on the numbers and bow to the almighty "scale" god too much in this life.

Last night at WW, I had stayed the same weight. I came home disappointed. I had not changed anything this past week in the way of my eating habits, but nonetheless, I stayed the same.
I was concentrating on those blasted numbers again! After talking to a friend that gently sent the reminder that we were not in this for the numbers, but for the health, I changed my attitude.

I didn't gain any this past week, that is a good thing! And I know we will reach certain levels over time when our body will say TOO MUCH WEIGHT IS GONE TOO FAST! WARNING! WARNING! So I will be content to lose it s-l-o-w-l-y.

Today I have been cleaning out the kitchen closet, tossing more junk, and organizing. It seems to help get my mind off of the food and helps move these body parts too!

I'm working hard to not allow hubby's illness and the days I don't feel so well become an excuse to sit down on the Journey and "rest" awhile. *Losing focus* would be what I could call that. I don't wish to lose my focus. But I also need to take one day at a time like I did in the beginning.

I wanted to also thank all of you that post to my blog. Your comments and caring attitudes keep this gal going daily...THANK YOU!

Hi berri, The body automatically starts reserving the body fat it has after losing some weight.

It is more important that you do not gain the weight back and living a healthy lifestyle.

Take care.
Keep On Blogging!!!! Have a great day.

When it comes to weight loss, slow and steady is better than quick and unpredictable. There will be times of no loss and no gain. Just stay focused on getting healthy. You're doing great, Berri. I'm proud of you.

We all need reminders now and then. That's what your friends are here for.

Berri - You're still winning at it, so just keep on doing what you are doing. However, I know what you feel like. I'm working out with a personal trainer, and after a month, I had only lost like 3 pounds. However, I've toned up quite and bit, and gained inches in the right places, and lost inches in the right places, so overall, I've been happy. Unfortunately, last couple of weeks, I've been on the road (both business and vacation) and definately need to hit the workouts when I finally get back home.

hi Berrigal,
I too am a WW member. i know it is easy to let those numbers get to you. This last tuesday at my WI i only lost .2 of a lb. It was so discouraging because i worked my butt off all week to lose that little. But as the lady at the scale said, a loss is a loss no matter how big or little. Deep down i know thats true, however i have always been the type who looks for the instant gratification. Keep up the good work, like you said, and like i am learning, take it one day at a time and the results will follow!
