Meetings... how they differ.

How does blogging differ from real life? You ever wonder that?

The two allow for first impressions. In real life you judge a person by their appearance. On line you judge them by their photo and stats.

In real life if you like their appearance you try to get to know them by catching their eye. On line you send them a wink.

You hope that by catching their eye they will approach you and start a conversation. You hope on here they send you an email or jump into the chat room you are in.

You judge them by how well they converse, their wit and charm. Shamefully not too different here either... but typing skills come into play and so does spelling.

Here is where things become curious, in real life you begin to hope for the next encounter, learn who they are over a course of meetings. How do you judge them here? Is it the same? Can you really get a good impression just by reading their blogs?

I would like to suggest yes and no. There are some things that you can get to know. If they have a sense of humor that you like, how often they admit they are aroused, if they are generous, kind hearted, and even bad qualities like stubborness.

But where you don't really grasp is their reactions. Do they smile when they say your name? Do they constantly joke through the day? Do their eyes light up when you enter the room?

I guess when I spend my time wandering the blogs, I feel like I get to admire the people here. However, I recognize how much a mystery you all are.

I say this because I am really excited to meet some of you in Chicago. And hope that a bit of the mystery of your persona will be exposed and revealed as mine will be in our meetings.

I won't be in Chicago... maybe next year.

I agree with "Candy"...I think you learn more from a person from their BLOGS. That this is just an introduction to "meeting in the flesh". Sometimes, looks can be deceiving....(i know I can't spell) and bring up expectations and possibilities that don't exist.

The mind is the most powerful sexual organ....if there is "nothing" there, sex is empty.

I would much rather be with a smart. articulate, sensitive, feeling man, with a "belly" and not totally in shape than a tight, hardbody, "vacant" individual...

The BLOGS reveal all....

Dear Tram, and Candy, I will take the best notes I possibly can

Tiller, I too believe the mind is a powerful sexual organ. Now if I learned how to use it.

Do you feel that some people reveal more of who they are on their blogs then others?
