Changing Seasons

It’s amazing how a single sentence uttered by the right person can change your life forever. Your destiny seems like it’s no longer yours anymore and you wonder if it ever really was. I’ve suddenly found myself in that situation this past week and it has taken all my emotions and energy and forced me to look at my life in a more objective lens. I find myself thinking about the future and how I will live with this new knowledge, both terrified and elated at the possibilities and consequences of my actions. I’m no longer the person I was two weeks ago and never will be again.

No matter how we try to escape it, neither of us chooses life. Life chooses us. I can only hope that I am strong enough, mature enough, intelligent enough, and brave enough to face it. I think that’s the best that any of us can hope for.

Honey, your picture alone has had a profound impact on me! Several times, in fact. \8 I have positively no doubt a few hours with you would be exactly the same sort of life-altering experience I described above.

Take care, sweetheart.

Perhaps life-alerting experiences can be looked upon as both a blessing and a challenge. I know when I was recently faced with such a predicament it helped to talk it over with those I cared about most who were directly affected by the situation. I think that sharing the concerns and the fears that wrestle within ourselves often help us to make wiser choices in life, it helps the picture seem less daunting and challenging. I know once I had someone to share my "troubles & concerns" with, I was able to think more clearly and responsibly for myself and that made it easier to get through the initial shock.

Life-altering situations never fully "pass", that is why they are named as such. But with the support and understanding of one good friend that you can talk to when you need to, really hash things out with, tell it like it is, don't hold back - you manage to get through it somehow. I know you will too. Keep in mind, you are an intelligent, caring wonderful man. If you weren't then you wouldn't have "life-altering" experiences to begin with. Nothing would ever matter enough to you to change your life forever.

Kisses, hugs and much love,
~SDA
