When it's over....is it really over???

Like i said in a previous blog..my last relationship lasted 7 years...7 LONG years...But not all of them were bad times. In the beginning it was wonderful, he was attentive, mannerly, lifted the toilet lid when he peed..you know, stuff like that. As the years moved on, things changed and we grew apart. He said i didn't give him enough sex, which was true. But how can u openly give yourself to someone when you find condoms and phone numbers in the wallet, you find strange numbers on your phone bill..and the last u heard..the relationship was supposed to me just the two of you. But ANYWHO..we split up. Now things are kinda good between us, he has moved in with another woman, who i guess is content in putting up with his unemployed ass. We still talk damn near every day, and he wants to get back together. IS HE CRAZY???? He is about 16 years older than me, hates work, and needs someone to play the momma role in his life. As many mean things i can say about him, he has that many good qualities. But my problem is, i still enjoy talking to him, but when we talk on a regular basis..he wants to bring up the past, and still think we are getting back together. You would think it's been over a year...IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. I will always care for him, and want him to be in my life..but just as a casual acquaintance, you know what i mean??? Will someone give me some advice..should i still talk to him (which is obviously leading him into thinking there's a chance)....or write him off completely...AM I THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM????

I agree...When you talk you give the invitation because that's what he is hearing or what he wants to hear (us guys have selective hearing that way)...

Just ended a relationship of five years. But we are still friends and I would say will stay friends. We knew that we could not live together and decided to get out while we could. At least me as a male do know what the word friend means.
