WTF is up with that Shit?

OK, I have worked myself into quite a pissy tizzy at the moment. I don't really know what the hell a pissy tizzy is but I am madder than a three legged cat trying to bury a turd in a frozen sand pile.

I am madder than your mama when she saw that the mid-wife threw away the baby and kept the afterbirth.

What the fuck is the deal with the fucking Illegal aliens marching and protesting American business' and products?

I am madder than a kid who just found out someone shit on a stick and dipped it in corn meal and told him it was a corn dog.

A bunch of fucking fucks sneak into my country and start demanding to be treated like citizens? Fuck you, you economy draining Fuckers.

You want to boycott and protest America and her products and business'? Do it from your own goddamn country. You wanna be an American? Follow the damn rules and do it legally.

Fuckity fuckity fuck.

To all the illegals in the USA I send out a hearty FUCK YOU. If there are some reading my blog I cannot help but smile and say FUCK YOU as I boldly flip you off!!!

(This last line is for all you liberals in blogville)

Hey George Bush !!! Quit being a fucking moron and quit being a pussy and do something about protecting our borders.

(see I can call Georgie names too.)

It's not that hard to get into this country legally really, for most immigrants. I'm not sure why they don't follow the rules to begin with.

    Quoting ShayeDK:
Instead of taking a day to gather and protest in the streets causing a mess, why didn't they all take the day to gather and head their asses down and apply for legal citizenship?
Guess that would make to much sense, eh?
Could have they? Could have they done that? Is it oh, just that simple? I have a feeling it isn't. I dont know much about how any of this works but if thats the case then I agree. If not I dont.

Our borders need to be protected but that has nothing to do with apple picking, working 12 hour shifts for 3 dollars an hour immigrants. It has to do with terrorists. Funny how Bush seems to forget about them.

Oh man dont get me started on in the U.K. we recently released 1000+ illegals back onto the streets due to an administration fuck up, the scary point being these people were murderers, , thiefs and generally low life scum. It is now reported that some of these people have reoffended! Its Fubar.

The ones that are granted citizenship, get state handouts, homes provided for them (a few years ago they could buy, under a right to buy scheme, wait a few years, then sell when the property prices are going through the roof, they then fuck off back to whatever land they came from and live like kings) unfuckinbelievable! oh..and where is my Limerick? I'm totally with you on this issue.

US Dollars sent back to Mexico keep the corrupt and inefficient government and economy afloat. Therefore, the Mexican government has only incentive to continue allowing and even promoting illegal emigration into the US....remember the water stations the Mexican governemtn put in the middle of their desert?

Here is a thought! Remember how you learned back in grade school/high school that every dollar you spend in your own economy circulates, changes hands 9 times, and builds wealth for everyone? I have not heard that in a while...all I hear is propaganda about so called 'free trade'. Big business and the Mexican government says that low priced immigrant labor keeps costs low....but I say, at what cost?????

We would be better off paying higher wages to people that don't send their money abroad, who have a vested interest in the future of America. Things would cost more, but prosperity would rise more, producing a net increase in the standard of living.

Lou Dobbs on CNN quoted a study that said that if competitive wages were paid in the vegetable fields, the average yearly cost of produce would only go up $10.00. This is because most of the money on produce is made in the distribution chain and not by the farmer. So the higher grocery cost argument is pure BS. He also did a poll....most people would gladly pay $100.00 more a year if it helped solve the illegal immigration issue.

If we don't have illegal immigrants, We rid ourselves of the societal costs whether they be idigent health care, special programs in schools, unlicensed and uninsured drivers involved in accidents, taxes that are not paid etc etc etc. We as American citizens are hardly getting a free lunch here by hiring illegals.

Do you want to propel the Mexican economy, or our own?

Now, I'm still looking for a Friend/Lover. Illegal immigrants need not apply.

some one left a comment on my blog from arizona and she said the illegals that come across into her state were quite reckless, well I say just like there are good and bad people here there are some who try to get over here too, not all of them are bad people and I still say its the fault of the government that is at fault if they weren't so busy stepping on the necks of the working class to hold them down they might have a chance to take care of the real matters at hand which need to be addressed coz this world is all about money and that doesnt make it funny just uncomfortable

I would vey much like to contribute to your post, Bard. I am British and have visited the States on many occasions through work... I don't know about the illegal aliens that you talk of because I now live in Japan. It seems that quite a few are really pissed off about it all. I would really like to hear about tht, because the news in Japan just does not convey the news from abroad.

Just my opinion from a lonely ex-pat.

Well Bardic, I've actually stayed clear of weighing in on the subject. Living in a border state, this topic is perpetually on the news, persistently on the ballot and regularly protested. I admit I appreciated the traffic lightening on the day that all the illegals took off to protest. It made my day easier. Much easier.

First I should tell you I'm not a bleeding heart liberal. I'm also not a staunch conservative. There are processes in place that make it simpler to come to the states through appropriate channels verses fighting to come here illegally. Those channels often go unused.

On the other hand, through my church activities I have had the opportunity to counsel and mentor those who have lived here illegally or just arrived. They are often fleeing very difficult circumstances, enough so that they are willing to go through a very dehumanizing experience just to come to the states. Most would die for the opportunity, literally braving the desert in the middle of a harsh summer for the opportunity to live freely and make a decent wage.

Granted, it's a wage I myself could use. Granted they don't have to protest. Granted, there is a way to enter legally. Granted we provide for many of them through foreign aid. Granted we as a nation and as individuals make their lives easier just by our living.

That being said, I struggle to reconcile my patriotism with my humanity. What happened to:
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

I wonder if we as a country no longer epitomize the wonderful words that grace the entrance to our land. I believe we have valid points. I believe that our anger is justified. I also believe we have lost some of what makes us, as a people, great. It appears we have lost our desire to love, honor and care for the human race on a personal level.

Perhaps we as citizens are right, perhaps the borders should be closed, perhaps we should take the sign down from over our door. Perhaps. But would that change who we are as a nation, a people united under freedom. I guess I just don't know.

Although I live somewhere left of center, I am also an expat Canadian. I waited in lines, filled out papers, and jumped through hoops for YEARS (maybe 10?)in order to become an American. This nation was built by immigrants. They came here, worked, became americans, BECAME US. They didn't protest, expect welfare, or anything but an opportunity to improve their lives.

Big, big difference to what's happening now.

Dear President Bush:

I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this.

I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.

So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All government forms need to be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and don't enforce any labor laws or tax laws.
13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy.

I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.

However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail hunting with your V.P.

Thank you so much for your kind help.

Not trying to get too political!!! LOL!!! But the main thing the immigrants were protesting went deeper than is shown on television. They are upset about how they are treated, which, I agree the proper steps should be taken in order to gain access to this country. They are feeling unappreciated, and underpaid. Pretty much the way the majority of Americans are feeling. They were protesting attempting to let America "know" that without them the businesses would suffer. I am going to make a statement, and I am not attempting to sound racist, hell I am African American; but the issue of illegal immigrants has many points. One point being, yes they work, however, they work much cheaper than many americans are willing to work. So, in a way, yes they do take jobs from fellow Americans. Many of the illegal immigrants do cannot afford to wait on the process to enter America. Is that our fault?? No, but it does affect us, in many ways. I will agree that our borders need to be better protected. I am also confused at how our American companies leave the US for Mexico, yet mexicans cross our borders. I don't get it!! Our jobs go to them in their country, and yet they come here? Someone really needs to look into that bullshit!!! Just my two cents!!!

I knew you were gonna discuss this subject, bard!!! LOL!!!

I'm with you 100%, Bard! If they want to live here, they need to do it LEGALLY!!!

My fiancee and his family immigrated here from Poland in 1984. They came here on vacation and decided to stay. So, they went through the proper steps and got their Green Cards. And, my (future) mother-in-law is FURIOUS about the protests that are occuring! She (and the rest of the family) think it's BS that people are "jumping borders" and getting away with it! They are breaking the LAW! And, something needs to be done about it!!!

It appears the chickens have finally come home to roost, brother Bardic.

Now you being a conservative should know by now that Bush's hands are tied in this matter. Not only is he tight with Vicente Fox (President of Mexico) for political reasons but his very own nephew (Jeb Bush's son) is Hispanic. The border/immigration issue is something he can't touch without alienating the very constituency he is trying to gain support from. He's pandering to the Hispanic vote which includes all Latino groups (Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Columbian, Dominican etc).

Now, about your point. I think the protest was mainly a show of force for political statement more than anything else. This has been building for a long time. Hispanics, illegal or otherwise, have been marginalized for years, yet haven't shown any solidarity in anything.....until now. That is what you should be concerned with, not some silly protest over immigration reform. All things being equal I think they should apply for legal status, but since when is anything equal in this country?

I look at this from a different angle because I'm a fatalist.

It's a bit funny seeing you whine and cry about your own party's dirty politics. You have no one but Bush to blame here. He is a fool, plain and simple, just that now it is staring you right in the face.

One more thing. For those of you who will try and pigeonhole me, take this in to account: I am Hispanic, an Army veteran, and yes I still think Bush is an absolute idiot.

    Quoting Naked_Tuesday:
DaphneR, have you ever been through the immigration process? Are you aware since Bush got his gas war Americans have to purchase an application to even apply for a spouce for example to come to America? It is not just one form but several forms that are required and each one takes months to process and verify. To do anything legal for coming into this country is not an easy thing. Even friends who were lucky enough to win the green card lottery took one and half years to get approved and come to America. I'm talking about people who live on 50-60 dollars a month and have maybe one or two kids and have to pay 3$ a gallon for gas. And they are not from Mexico but Europe. If you think oh sure things are cheaper there, they are not, not really. Per lb they pay the same as we do for beef, more than we do for gas, and $45 monthly for dial up internet that works at 14,4 if we are lucky. Sure these people should be considered for immigration before some illegal who isn't willing to pay their own way and once here they bring in more to ruin the economy. If you look around most of the states already have public signs posted in Spanish. Do you suppose it is because they are dumber than all the other immigrants that came here before them? You don't find that in other countries but Americans, we're made to bend over backwards to kiss their asses.
No, I've not been through the immigration process. I was born in this country. I have had friends that have gone through said process and I know what it entails. (granted, this was before 9/11)

Now, think about this.

I need money, I apply for a loan, go through the process. I might have to wait and fill out a lot of papers. Oh well, those are the rules.

What? Don't follow the rules? Why yes, you too can get money by robbing a bank. It's a lot faster and really, no one is looking.

So what. Maybe entering this country legally is a bit of an inconvenience. Tough shit. People entering this country need to learn to play by the rules or just stay at home. After all, those rules are in place for a reason.

Am I misinformed where my local and state taxes are going?
My taxes pay for their health care.
My tax dollars pay for the children's
education. OUR tax dollars support these people.
You can't use cheap labor as an excuse to support
illegal immigrants. An illegal may be picking your

of dollars a year in free handouts.
There isn't a whole lot of misinformation when
it comes to being here illegally.
The United State does not OWE anything to illegal immigrants.
It wouldn't surprise me to find out that an illegal who picks
lettuce for $3 an hour may actually have more net income than I do.

As a normally bleeding heart liberal, I have to say, I'm with you on this. But everyone has to stop focusing on Mexicans. Yes, they are the most vocal of all of them, however, they're not the only ones.

Remember the amnesty program under the diversity visa lottery? The diversity visa lottery allows 50,000 people a green card every year. If you're illegal and from most countries, you can apply. You don't even have to put down a real address, just a post office box where they can tell you if your green card has been approved. From the late 80s until 1995, lawyers who worked on helping people called this the Irish Sweepstakes, as 40% of the green cards were set aside for Irish here illegally. At that time, there were far more illegal Irish in the NYC area especially than any other nationality.

Now, I realize various countries are exempted from the list. If you're from the UK but not from Northern Ireland, you're not eligible. Nor are Mexicans, as our quotas are filled every year on legal immigration. However, you can apply legally. Not to mention, most of the people who do come over illegally don't even have the quality of life in this country they did in their home country. I find it hard to believe that the Mexican day laborers on Long Island living 15 to 30 to a small house have a better quality of life here. Neighbors actually rat them out to immigration and the landlords to whomever.

It isn't just Mexicans who will be deported, either. It's anyone here illegally. An ex of mine told me a story of a chat buddy in Australia. She came here with her American husband. She applied for a visa, they would only give her a 6 month tourist visa, in spite of her being legally married to an American and being able to prove it wasn't a relationship of convenience. She was busted for overstaying her visa on a cross country trip with her husband. When her husband died a few months later, she wasn't even allowed back into the country for his funeral. She wasn't even allowed to get her belongings from their home. It was held and then put on a plane back to Oz. Told she couldn't come back into this country for any reason whatsoever for at least two years. It doesn't matter what country you're from, what color your skin is or what your native language is. If you're here illegally and they find you, you are deported.

My favorite quote from the big protest a few weeks ago was a guy who said to the news crew, "They're treating us like we're criminals!" Guess what honey? Illegal means criminal. You are committing a crime if you're here illegally. Period. This isn't a victimless crime at all.

Couldn't agree more. And the thing that pisses me off the most, is that the fuckers were picketing IN SPANISH! Are you gonna learn spanish so you can talk to them? Cause I'm sure as hell not gonna do it. If they wanna talk and be heard/understood, they better damn well learn english! Too bad that the ones who left jobs that day couldn't have just been fired...hopefully a lot of them were, but I doubt it. They have more rights than we do. Their employers fire them, they scream discrimination (or whatever the hell the word would be in spanish) and the freakin ACLU is all over it like stink on shit! Gotta agree with you about Bush too....needs to gather up his balls and do something about tightening the borders.

Doesn't matter if it's that simple or not. If you want to be a citizen and have the same rights as a citizen of the US, then you have to go through whatever you have to go through to become a citizen, period. I don't care how hard it is. Go down to Mexico and pull the same crap that the illegals are pulling here and see how fast you land in jail. The US is the only country in the world where illegal aliens have similar and in some cases, seeminlgy more, rights than the actual citizens. I'm not against people from other countries gaining legal citizenship here...but I'm totally against them refusing to do so and then bitching because they don't get equal rights and benefits. I don't know if the people who chose to protest could have gone down and applied for citizenship instead of protesting. I have a feeling they may have been arrested and deported. But the bottom line is, if they had gone through the appropriate channels to begin with, they wouldn't have to worry about it.

Fair enough that you don't want illegal immigrants. Bear in mind however, that they wouldn't be there if business wasn't only too happy to employ them. Companies using illegal workers would be far easier to attack if the political will was there. Unfortunately, as long as the economy 'appears' to be in good health, no action will be taken for fear of upsetting the apple cart, and derailling the gravy train (metaphors all round!).

They should get Sting and deport his singing ass the fuck out of there as well.

I can't believe that motherfucker had the balls to tell everyone he was an alien, an illegal alien, he's an alien in New York.

Given he's so famous, he would be a perfect example. I say hang him and watch the others flee across the borders they snuck in through.

"madder than a three legged cat trying to bury a turd in a frozen sand pile" What a great image!

Couldn't agree with you more, Bard! We've had May Day and the Protest by the Illegal Aliens (which the gutless, politically correct media now call immigrants) and then yesterday, Cinco de Mayo (for the corrupt Mecicans). Well, I am boycotting fucking margaritas and Coronas with limes! I didn't drink a margarita or eat a fucking taco yesterday!

Yep! I will drink mint juleps today in honor of something American, The Kentucky Derby. I will drink only American beer (well, maybe some Canadian and German too!) I will eat hot dogs and hamburgers until the illegal Mexicans go back to Mexico. Let Pres. Vincente Fox clean-up the corruption in his own damned country so that the economy can improve down there!

Fuck the politicians too! Both Democrats and Republicans are pandering to the illegals wanting their vote when they become legal thru amnesty in 2008. Well, I say fuck 'em! Vote 'em all out! Let's see if they start pandering to legal American voters!

I say let's all join the Minutemen!

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

From Artistic's comment where she agonizes over the seeming conflict between patriotism and humanity, I say this:

We are still a land of opportunity. My grandparents came to this country seeking that opportunity. But, they came legally. They learned the language of this country and they learned the history and adapted to the culture. They built businesses and paid taxes. They sent a son, my father, to fight in WWII against the country they had left, Germany. They like many of our immigrant parents, grandparents and great grandparents, did it the right way ... LEGALLY.

That's all we are saying! Mexicans are hard-working people, and I feel badly for them due to their own corrupt government. So, let's quit blaming America, let's quit blaming George Bush and let's start blaming the Mexican government. Let's stop catering to Pres. Vincente Fox and the corrupt government that creates conditions the Mexican people are so eager to leave behind. They would stay if they had economic opportunity.

And like Artistic says, let's take the people who do come here legally and Americanize them. They need to learn our language, our history and our laws. They can still retain and celebrate their own culture, but we have to have one unifying national language and one unifying appreciation for what this country represents. It represents certain ideas and ideals. If they buy into the American ideals and become legal citizens, they are more than welcome! And this country will be better off because they have come, appreciating the opportunity and seeking to become the best that they can be!
