What ever happened to...good original movies?

Ok so most recent movies have been really bad.
Not to mention all the redos and remakes and tv ripoffs.

Remakes is fairly obivious, a remake of an older movie, same characters, same basic plot, different dialog, maybe a different setting, usually same title, see charlie and the cholocate factory or willie wonka and the chocalte factory. Which do you prefer?

TV ripoffs are just as easy to spot. Take an old tv show, write an episode that is at least 1.5 hrs long film it with bigger cameras. A few options for the tv ripoff include the ever popular spoof, see the brady bunch movie, the true to form honor, see charlie's angels, and then the movie of making a movie, see bewitched.

The redo is hard to spot, at least at first glance. After watching it is too hard not to see the similarities, see national treasure, sahara, and the now filming davinci code.

Have movies been made for so long there is not an original idea to be had any more?

I know all plots have been concieved, but you can recycle a plot and still have an original movie.

Aside from the redos, remakes, and ripoffs, why are being fed the rest of the trash that is coming out of hollywood? I may just turn to foreign films. I may not be able to understand them, but the tend to be free and more open with the sex and nudity. Of course I could just watch porn.

Have you seen any good movies recently?

Batman begins was better then expected. I suppose the key is to have low expectations to begin with.
