What ever happend to?


So one thing I am going to try to do once a week is to ponder about what ever happened to something. It could be something or someone, a tv show, a book series, a food item, a trend, just about anything.

This week I wonder what the hell happened to customer service. I have had no phone service all week. I have had to call the customer support line everday. Every day a service ticket was created. Every day the ticket was only good for 12 hrs. What good does 12 hrs do for me if I am out of the house for 14 hrs at a time? This while talking to a damn computer. Voice recognition to record my name, phone number and problem. It kept telling me the problem must be on my end.
When I finally spoke to someone they said the same fucking thing. I finally got them to to schedule someone to come out, but they will not be out until monday. and the best they could do for time was sometime before 6pm. Now that really pisses me off. Not to mention the fact that I had to spend 30 minutes on my cell phone waiting to speak to someone.

What sort of problems have you had with customer service? Could be customer serviuce for anything, not just phone companies.

Coming from someone who has worked customer service for about 15 years,well we all have our days. The most common thing that happened most often was when the customer calls with a complaint and immediatly starts yelling at the CS worker, tends to put a damper on everyones day, then everyone is cranky. As for some companies, everyone has their "Chief" job and all they know to tell you is that if their machines cant fix it then it must be on your end of the issue. Then they have to send you to someone else in that department. Its all about BS and to talk to a automated machine, well that just pisses anyone off, you know there is someone sitting there watching the phone light up and the machine come on!!

I am usually rather calm with customer service. But after having called 3 different times and being told it must be on my end and spending about 3 hrs on my cell phone waisting minutes I started to get frustrated. And as it turns out there was a short in the junction box outside my house, a problem they had to fix.

Now if it is a telle-marketer I like giving them a hard time, especially if the call earlier morning or after 8 in the evening.

At least they did not have an annoying whiny voice.
