False Meetings, or Buyer Beware

...or Why I Won't Meet Without Seeing a Convincing Photograph First.

Some people seem offended when I tell them I won't meet without a photograph. I don't get it. Yet, each person that wants to meet without presenting a photo promises the same thing, "I look great. All my friends say I'm hot. You won't be dissappointed..."

No thanks; and, here's why.

A few years ago I met someone off here when I was still a greenhorn, and it didn't go as planned -- at all. This hot, middle-aged, buxom beauty and I were scheduled to meet at a pub in downtown Indy. I sat and sat and sat. 'She's late,' I thought. 'Oh well.' There was this fella sitting next to me the whole time and he finally leans over and askes me, "meeting someone?" I instantly thought, 'Fucking hell...' He then called me by my name and introduced himself. As he put his hand out, I got up and walked out.

One other time I decided to meet someone and give the whole 'meeting without a photo' thing another chance. This time the person was of the sex they claimed to be, a good first step. Unfortunately, they looked nothing like they claimed they did. And they most definitely weren't in the shape they claimed. I have no problem with women -- big or small -- but please be who you say you are and things will go much better. Honesty is always the best avenue.

So, there you go.

Oh, and I forgot to turn on comments, so they're on now. Feel free to drop a note.

I have had my share of those kind of e-mails "...You won’t be disappointed", with the most bizarre excuses for not providing a photo, some even claimed to be famous.

I follow the simple rule," no photo, no meeting" - the rule I never break.

What maybe "beautiful" in somebody's eyes, may not be "beautiful" in my eyes.
