No Charge For Love

Here's what I'm asking you to do this fine Monday morning. As you read this story, I want you to think of someone who needs for you to understand.....and needs to know they are loved. And then go, and show them that you care!

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell.. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups. And set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

"Mister," he said, "I want to buy "one of your puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"

Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle. "Here, Dolly!" he called. Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran
Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.
The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.

As the dogs made their way to the fence,
the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....

"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg, attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands."

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup.

"Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.
"How much" asked the little boy.

"No charge," answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love."

The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

Please leave the photo on editors.

* ELECTRIC'S HEART WARMS *

That was so nice the way that story ended. Funny how us humans are always looking for a connection or commonalities, even in the simple task of picking a pet! ( Maybe that's why I keep a smart ass out at the ranch! )

I choose, today, to let Angel know the extent of how we guys on her blog do love her. Simply put: "Show us your puppies!"
(This is the sexual harassment blog, right?)

Wonderful little story, read it just after I got a call from my daughter in Afghanistan. So this story, ScornedinMd's joke today, and that call has me starting out on a good note.

When I started reading blogs, I never imagined how often I would find myself in tears. Beautiful story Angel.

Any advice on how to reach out to someone who desperately needs to be understood, but you can't understand their actions at all?

MMM.....are we talking about who I think we are? I will think on this one and get back to you. Here's a tissue my sweet, kindhearted friend.

Well, since we're sharing, Angel. My real name is Keiko. I am a 9-year-old girl from the mainland island of Honshu in Japan. My journey here on AdultFriendFinder is actually a home-school assignment in Applied Sociology focusing on the sexual roles in different countries. My goal for this assignment is to be prepared for the many joys and hopefully fewer sorrows my impending puberty will surely bring. When I publish my thesis in The Harvard Journal of Applied Sociology, for your privacy I'll not refer to you by your real name. I extend a gracious "thank you" for participating!

Does that solve your mystery, pretty American lady?

Now my nose is all stuffy too... I so understand that story, and I'm so glad to see it again today. With this world so at war, wouldn't it be lovely if we could all just hug each other and make peace?

I make mistakes, I am out of control & at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best. ~Marilyn

Thanks for the story Angel, it was a winner!

Hey Virginia Beach girl.... I have a room in a very upscale hotel right down on the beach in your lil' old town this week. Want to come down and join me for a couple of days of "fun in the sun" and a couple of nights of just plain fun?

Hell, a guy's gotta try... who knows, it might happen.

Angel, like someone else mentioned I had read this story before, but
the meaning is still as true as it was the first time that I read it!

I always do my best to make those who might be feeling unloved and unwanted feel loved and wanted, but it never hurts to get a reminder. We could all do better in that department I think.

Thank you Angel!

Hugs.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful story of unconditional love. I was with a friend today who needed to be understood. Last night (knowing what was ahead of me today) I prayed for guidance. If I showed just a tiny fraction of love that the little boy in the story did, I'll be happy.
This is the first blog I've read on this site and I'm so glad I picked this one. Look forward to reading many more.....Thanks Angel

I Absolutely LOVE this story - true or not...., how heartwarming can a person be to totally understand the deep desires and needs of another human being! Even if it's a little boy and a pup!
