I Believe!

My little guy, my grandson, is eight years old. He still believes in Santa.....but I think this is probably the last year. You know, kids will tell him, something in the magic just sours. This has been a hard year for his family, and for mine. Last year, everything he asked for for Christmas he got. Of course, the older they get, the more expensive their toys get......so, not everything will be under the tree this year. I think when you get older, you just belong to the club that helps make the magic. It doesn't have to cost a lot of money. And it shows in your eyes....the eyes of the child that still lives inside of you. So... even as you get older..

Believe! There is still Magic!

So many people deny the child inside ... it can be very frustrating. I love to play at all levels and find a great many 'adults' confused by my adventurous spirit. Seen through the eyes of a child, the world is a wonderful place.

Smedly....you are so right! It is when I deny the child inside myself, that I begin to feel saddened by the world. But when you can see throught the eyes of that child, it IS a wonderful place.

I have a sign in my kitchen that just sez: 'Believe'

I really believe that beliefs are very powerful...and as for
Christmas.........yes, much better with kids around. One
granddaughter here..and they are in Texas for Xmas

Much joy to your family Angel...for a Happy Holiday!'

Just a little food for thought.............
If you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you...

You gotta "believe."

Angel, you're right, when you stop believing, everything around you just isn't the same.
When my youngest finally found out, I had her play Santa for the rest of us that year. She had a ball!!! Carefully wrapping things in "Santa Paper." and then keeping them hidden, and putting them under the tree that night. She still talks about it.

Jim Valvano, the head basketball coach at NC State, that knew he was dying of cancer, gave a speech saying, "You have to believe. Never stop believing." That speech is right up there with one of the best.
I know that isn't Christmasie, but I'll always remember it.

Merry Christmas, Angel... to you and your family, unlisted

Goddess...I know you'll miss them while they are in Texas. I have a sign in my kitchen that sez.."Don't drive faster than your guardian angel can fly." Applies to many aspects in our lives. Have a wonderful holiday!

Unlisted....what a wonderful thing to do with your daughter. I'm going to remember that one for next year when the "believe" phase of childhood ends! Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you and your family!

I live every day to put that "magic" in some man's eyes. Just because the man might be married, doesn't mean he shouldn't have the magic. Merry Christmas!

Sunny....I don't think you even begin to understand the concept of the "magic" I was speaking of. Sorry for you.

I guess there comes a time in everyones life that the magic dims but I dont think it ever really leaves totally. We all get a little bit of it back, from each little one that does still believe.
I know I still have my little corner of magic and it is always there
