I've Been Thinking!

I've been thinking ....I know...you can smell the burning! (everyone's a comedian!) Something happened in the hospital that I've been wondering about writing here....and now, I think I will.

The morning after my surgery, there was a really sweet medical assistant who came in after they disconnected the catheter and took the tens stockings off my legs and helped me clean up. There is nothing that feels better than to wash up after you've been lying in bed for 24 hours. She was the sweetest thing, and really worked hard to make me comfortable.

Anyways...this gal washed the betadine off me....yes, my rear end! And then helped me wash my face and get into my own gown instead of the hospital gown. Later on that day when I got to go home, she helped me get dressed and wheeled me downstairs where my husband was pulling the car up front. So, she helped me out of the wheel chair, and put me into the front seat of the car. And just before she closed the door, she said.........

Kind of makes you wonder, doesn't it? Anyways, if she IS someone from here....I'd just like to say "thank you".

It just might be a coincidence, but her own wings may have not been noticed in your departure. That does happen you know.

Well you did post a while back on how there are many nurses here. It is a strong possibility that it was someone from here or just someone who saw the true angel in you.

Anyway, if it was someone from here, I would like to say thank you for taking care of our angel!

There was a horror movie a few years back...the plot was about how the Devil was trying to convert a special child to evil before she came into her powers for good...

anyway, throughout the movie...one of the characters said that there were angels all around us...while they couldn't dive right into the fight between good and evil...they could do subtle things to help the good guys....like holding open a subway car door so the child could get away, or hiding the child behind them for a second...

I think your angel stepped up for just a second...to repay your kindness

Just my viewpoint...nothing more....

The thing about working in the medical field, is that they are such caring people. They see alot and go thru alot with patients. She watched over you in your time of need, but you gave back too hon. I am sure she knew when you left the hospital, that you were thankful. Hope all is well with you now..........Angel ....

What a wonderful story and thought. I'm so sorry I've not been here for you, Sweet Angel......... I was out of town for a long weekend and could not check on your progress. I had a daughter finish her Master's program and was there for her graduation. I did think of you, but didn't have access to a computer that I felt comfortable logging in on. I hope you'll understand......... I am so happy that you're back and hope that you'll soon be feeling like the Sweet Angel that you always are! Key

Hello Angel,

I hope you enjoyed your last stay in a hospital. Your probably didn't like being there, but it was a necessary evil. Now you are all better and feeling good.

I am glad that you had physical help while at the hospital. Are you sure this person was a medical assistant? Seriously, she must have been a very caring individual to take so much time to be with you and help you get into your husbands car.

I have never had a hospital stay in my life. I hate hospitals. And I do not trust doctors and nurses. I have been in hospitals before. Very few, and I never felt good emotionally. I cannot really say why that had been true all my life, but in the past decade or so, it has been true, because of a potentially bad (terrifying) incident at a clinic. I will tell you about that later (if you ask nicely).

Maybe this person who helped you was an angel, maybe not. I do not really believe in angels. I would like to. I mean, they are instruments of pure good. But, I cannot believe anything is pure good, just like I cannot believe anything is pure bad.

It is absolutely your right to believe she was your angel sent down from you know where. Do you believe that? Besides the obvious, what led you to that conclusion? Have you seen an angel before, or think you may have?

I changed the size of the font on my post just for you Angel. The color and type of font are the same, but the size of font is one size bigger. Can I ask why you never responded to my responses on your older posts (those while you were at the hospital and a few days before that?)

Your friend,

Jon C.

angelofmercy5 replies on 5/17/2006 2:26 pm:
Jon...I don't know why I didn't respond. I guess I'll have to go back and look at some of them. I try to respond to all visitors...but there were a few posts that I didn't respond to any due to the drugs...and being tired. Sorry about that!

I would also give you whatever you need for real, including the backrub that you like and all the hugs you could ever need. But, like Mycin said, I also live too far away. I may live closer than her, though. I live in Troy, NY, near the capital city.

If it wasn't for the distance, I would be there for you right now and every day that you need me. You wouldn't even need to ask me. I would come to you of my own volition (with lots of love and attention).

Special moments are just that special. She could be oblivious to what it meant for you. That doesn't make it less special. It would please me to make someones day, even by accident. You never know for sure. Thank God for all the help and angels, even if they don't know who they are.

I think sometimes God has us do things for others and we don't realize the good we've done. We can't ruin it with pride then.

when my dearest friend was taken to the intensive care unit

Are they very easy to see?
Are there really angels here
Taking care of you and me?

Their Halos are not obvious
Nor robes of white do they wear
Their wings may be hidden
But their love is everywhere

Angels are in the grocery store
The schools and the shopping mall
Their good deeds know no limits
No boundaries - great or small

We encounter angels often
They are in our lives everyday
Simple gestures of friendship
Acts of kindness along the way

Angels lessen the pain
And help to ease the sorrow
They bring the realization of hope
And dreams for a brighter tomorrow

Yes, angels walk among us
Without halos or wings to see
The angels that bring happiness to life
Are the angels we know - you and me.

-By Karen Forde
