Some of Bonnie's Favorite Quotes - Share yours with me..

I didn't marry you because you were perfect.
I didn't marry you because I loved you.
I married you because you gave me a promise.
That promise made up for your faults.
And the promise I gave you made up for mine.
Two imperfect people got married and it was the promise that made the marriage.
And when our children were growing up, it wasn't a house that protected them; and it wasn't our love that protected them - it was that promise.
-Thornton Wilder

My heart is ever at your service.
-William Shakespeare

I have no way of knowing whether or not you married the wrong person, but I do know that many people have a lot of wrong ideas about marriage and what it takes to make that marriage happy and successful. I'll be the first to admit that it's possible that you did marry the wrong person. However, if you treat the wrong person like the right person, you could well end up having married the right person after all. On the other hand, if you marry the right person, and treat that person wrong, you certainly will have ended up marrying the wrong person. I also know that it is far more important to be the right kind of person than it is to marry the right person. In short, whether you married the right or wrong person is primarily up to you.
-Zig Ziglar

The challenge is to help couples turn "I Do" into "We Can"
-Scott Stanley

We are, each of us, angels with one wing, and we can only fly embracing each other.
-Luciano DeCrescenzo

Moonlight and roses are bound to fade for every lover and every maid but the bond that holds in any weather is learning how to laugh together.

Many marriages would be better if the husbands and wives realized they were on the same side.
-Zig Ziglar

Let there be spaces in your togetherness.
-Kahlil Gibran

There is nothing more lovely in life than the union of two people whose love for one another has grown through the years, from the small acorn of passion, into a great rooted tree.
-Vita Sackville-West

Doubt thou the stars are fire; doubt that the sun doth move; doubt truth to be a liar; but never doubt I love you. I love thee, I love but thee with a love that shall not die. Till the sun grows cold and the stars grow old.
-William Shakespeare

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind..
-William Shakespeare

Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be.
-Robert Browning

The Beauty of Love:
The question is asked, "Is there anything more beautiful in life than a young couple clasping hands and pure hearts in the path of marriage?" Can there be anything more beautiful than young love? And the answer is given. "Yes, there is a more beautiful thing. It is the spectacle of an old man and an old woman finishing their journey together on that path. Their hands are gnarled, but still clasped; their faces are seamed, but still radiant; their hearts are physically bowed and tired, but still strong with love and devotion for one another. Yes, there is a more beautiful thing than young love, old love."

Yeah. It's not that romantic love is a myth; it isn't. But still, love is not a hole, something you just fall into. It's something you build, a blueprint to follow--like the man said, a promise--and sometimes in the middle of things, it's difficult to see the final shape: those two elderly people who have built a life together, wlaking hand in hand down the street, content.

Thanks for the gobbets.
