Day SIX - Almost there!

Well, it's Saturday! Only one more day to go to complete my first week. Hasn't been too bad; I'm really enjoying the mood-altering drugs they put in the patch! lol Here's where the real test is going to be, though. During the week, most of my time is eaten up at work. Will I be able to find enough stuff to do around the house to keep my mind off the old habit? We'll see.
I did get some discouraging news last night, though. My older cousin, who was a 3-pack-a-day smoker for over 30 years and finally quit about 10 years ago, told me "I could still light one up right now. I still miss it."
Not encouraging news as I've never been much on self-denial. For me, the decision on whether or not to do a thing is pretty much based on one criteria: do i want to do it? If it's yes, then I go for it. If not, then I don't. Rules don't matter; sometimes, even morality doesn't matter. Trying to think if I've ever let traditional Judeo-Christian morality be the deciding factor on whether or not to pursue an object or relationship or any other desire... drawing a blank right now. Guess that makes me sound kinda self-centered, huh? I'm really not, though. I believe in giving of myself; in going to the extra mile to serve those around me. But I guess if I want something bad enough, that is the final decision-maker (my want/need) and all else be damned.
All ya'll keep my in your prayers and/or happy thoughts this weekend and while you're at it, have some fun! You only go around once and if you come to the end of your life and realize you've been bored out of your mind for most of it, you have only yourself to blame!

Good's a tough one to kick. It's my next 'self project' after my diet.

PENIS CHARMING....where are you?

Thanks! I need to drop some pounds, too, but the average smoker adds about 6 pounds during the quitting process. My thought was: what's the point of taking the weight off if I'm going to put it right back on quitting smoking? Seemed more logical to drop the smokes first, then tackle the weight. Besides, in my case, the cigs were doing much more damage to my health than the extra weight.
