By The Pool

Well you would think by the header that I'm lying by my pool, soaking up the sun and having fun. Noooooo. We had a pool installed 5 years ago and had no idea what we were in for! It took 18 months to install (we were told 2-4 weeks)and the company changed their name 3 times and did a shitty job. We've replaced the heater, pump, and filter in that time because they were crap. I had no idea how much work they are! We didn't open it last year and we're paying for it this year! 2 years worth of debris is not a pretty site! I had visions of these great pool parties and sexy bathing suits or birthday suits but to be honest, everybody we know shows up bright and early every nice morning and stays until dinnertime. Don't get me wrong, I love having them over, but they don't control their kids and my husband works from home. Sometimes he can't even hear to think from all the noise. We have no privacy, because more people show up for evening swims! Funny how nobody shows up to CLEAN the pool or patio or yard. 2 years ago, our heating bill was $500 per month because of the pool, not to mention the jump in the electric bill. I can only imagine what it will be this year! I don't mean that I want them to help with that, we would pay that whether they showed up or not. I just meant that we didn't expect that kind of expense. The chemicals are another $100 per month. These are things they don't tell you when you buy a pool. Also, opening and closing the pool runs about $250 each. So all of you who are thinking about it, make sure you know all of this before you break ground. On the other hand, it IS great to be able to jump in anytime. None of my pool sex scenarios have materialized either! (By the pool, not in it!) Well, at least not yet! I'm not sure how good a pussy or cock would taste after being in chlorine for awhile!

My dream has always been a hot tub. Honestly I dont really enjoy taking care of pools. However, I really wonder how related the issues of a pool & a hot tub would be?

Since pools cost so much for upkeep, can I use yours?

We have a hot tub and love it. We have had it for five years and tell everyone that wants to buy a pool, not to, cause they will get more use out of their hot tub. We spend about 20 dollars a month to heat it and another 10 dollars for chemicals. Buy a filter and O2 stick once a year, 100 dollars. Total for a year would be 440 for the year and you can use it year round with very little trouble to clean it.

Sure would be fun to get a small group together for a private hot tup/pool party. If poeple took the time to get to know each other it could turn out to be a lot of fun.
