OK, so next time I am writing a 2 line post as compared to a 125 line post because they get the same amount of comments.

You're killing me here. I have been thinking to myself, cause I love attention, what do I post to get results. I cannot for the life of me find the rhyme or reason to it all. So... blog on and do it for myself I say. IM me later.

A lot of people probably read and enjoy. Then struggle to make an original comment.

-Guilty- I'm sorry. I tend to be more likely to comment when I'm asked what my thoughts are and I have some thoughts. That doesn't happen on my blog though, I don't think anyone has ever responded to one of my questions.

My funniest blog experience is when I asked anyone reading it if I needed serious psychological help and got ZERO comments. Is that good?

Take comfort that you can post "Fuck Whoever!" and get positive and encouraging feedback. That's serious moxie, Mac

I answer your questions in your blog! (you don't need psych help)

Me, longer blogs get mostly ignored. Think I'm putting people to sleep. So I have gotten more and more sporadic about blogging, usually I'm just a comment slut now (as in, I give 'em out...)

But that was a great story 2 posts back...very creative...keep going...

I like you being the queen of responses, but I like your writing too. you should do it more often.

I've actually noticed that some of the more popular blogs consist of mostly short messages. The attention span of the average person these days rivals that of a...ooooh shiny!

Don't ya hate that? I used to get so frustrated over that when I blogged on LJ. Now, I could give a frig cuz I blog here for me and only me I love it!

Maybe the quantity of comments is the same or higher (perhaps longer posts scare away people who don't want to think or get involved?) with a shorter posting, but I'd suspect that the quality of the replies improves in proportion to the post depth.

Just a hunch.

Or maybe Sunday night is a good night to attract comments.

Off for the next bit, Mac. YOU take care

absolutelynormal replies on 6/13/2006 4:27 pm:
I hate math, but I do the ratios in my head. Usually the shorter the psot, within reason... like a few paragraphs of 2-3 sentences each will hold the attention span and create comments. I'm too stupid to ask questions in my blog. I assumed that people will just tell me what they think cause that's the way I am.

adult ADHD ...that's what I'd attribute it to .... I've noticed the same thing unless it's a story... those get more attention... the whole "entertain me" thing solution go get even duller ... maybe I need to write a story about watching paint dry ...or would that be too interesting ...

absolutelynormal replies on 6/13/2006 4:28 pm:
That was the whole thing CS, I wrote a story and it got 6 whole comments, this got 16 or 17.

I know exactly how you feel; the one posting that has almost hit 800 was a goofy poll I took asking what type of picture a female should have. Over 500 views for a short dirty joke {with accompanying picture, of course}. Dick's dick is dicked got over 500 to date, as well {no dirty pic with it, but I was ranting about 'dick pics'}. One of the 2 'best' examples of what you're talking about is one with a picture of a sign {Parking for drive-thru customers only} -- the title was ? and the 'statement' was ! {That one is almost 500 views.} There was one title And that's all I have to say about that {the 'posting' was one word -- Fuck} and it has almost gotten the most comments of any of mine and is over 300 views. Maybe if I had added an exclamation mark or a pic it would have gotten even more? *L* I would put some blame on ADHD myself, but then I ramble like there's no tomorrow anyway! *L*

Oh, and as for complexlysimple's story about paint drying...I read it, and it was great...but a little messy {someone touched it while it was drying}.

Who are you blogging for, yourself or your audience? If you have something to say, say it in as many words as you need to express yourself. So what if they can't keep up?

I like your blog, short or long.

absolutelynormal replies on 6/15/2006 5:27 pm:
I actually blog for both me and the audience. Sometimes there are things that I "need" to say, writing them helps. Sometimes when I post to other people's blogs, I don't know if I am talking to them or to myself.

When I write a story, it's more for the audience. I want to know if people liked it, if they didn't like it, what they want to read, etc.

I know there are those who blog for themselves alone and I wish that I didn't care what anyone's opinion is, but the truth of the matter is that I do care.

Thank you for your kind words here. I like yours too Mac
