Mac Ain't Got The Knack, for Sleeping

I'm a terrible insomniac. I've had to take something for sleep for YEARS. Now why my doctor's office told me they would call in ambien and never did is beyond me. Perhaps the nurse had a heart attack and died before she could phone it in?

So again last night I finally drift off around 4. I live in a townhouse. My neighbors started repeatedly watching the My Sharona video about 730 the best I can figure. Now there is some kinda weird ooompah thing going on over there.

Also been doing bizarro dreaming, night before last I dreamed I got my hair cut into a short bob that feathered toward my face. I would never do such a thing, I don't care if I would look utterly fantastic because it would drive me INSANE!

Last night I dreamt that an old BF bought a home defibrillator for his mom who is by now probably 86 or so. These defibrillators work just like the ones on TV where you hear someone yeall "CLEAR!" and put the paddles to the chest, only there are no paddles. Instead you have giant sticky pads with wires hanging out of them, one sticks to the front, one either to the back or kinda on the left side. In my dream, she's up walking around dragging the machine behind her by the wires.

Then I am sorry to say that I dreamed that I died. Not me, me but Absolutelynormal died. There were many bloggers at her funeral. I didn't know that many of you cared, sob, sob!

So here I sit, tired as hell. I could be up doing something like cleaning up my pigsty but I'm too tired. I have a place I could be, but I'm too ornery and even worse it's because my own doctor and my own neighbors are plotting against me... My Sharona is back now.

Yikes. My Sharona is not something I'd wanna hear ad nauseum.

What was it with us two and death thoughts yesterday?

Can I be obnoxiously cheerful and suggest a nice walk--maybe with soothing new age or classical music--to take your mind off the neighbors, the need to clean your place, etc.? I tend to wallow when I'm down and sometimes it takes some such obnoxiously cheerful person to suggest it to me. Or literally drag me out.

Well, I'm off to the pool, which is just about to open, to soak up some rays. Wish you were here, I'd drag you with me.

Good grief! I have some Ambien here you could have. I'm an insomniac too.....but I just can't take the medication. Don't you love dreams? They are so discumbobulated and weird sometimes!

Hey Mac Sorry about the not sleeping thing. I'm not a good sleeper either. I finally just quit worrying about it. I get up & go do something else - even if it's waste of time, so what? I would just be sleeping anyway. It occurred to me the other night... maybe I just live on the wrong continent?

I care Mac. I too am a bad sleeper, but wow the NyQuil helps. How strange you brought up the AED we just had one installed on the wall at work.

I have niece who is also a writer - brilliant stuff she writes - she'll be up for 3 days at a time now that sucks - I worry about her.
Dreams - couldn't believe it when one of our fellow bloggerettes walked into one of mine the other night - caught me pleasantly off guard - even as a dream -
Hope ya get some sleep Mac - perhaps a couple bowl loads and a quart of tequila .

I'm sorry you had trouble falling asleep again. I usually enjoy my dreams, when I even recall having them. It's too bad that yours are so unsettling to you.

Oh, BTW. My inner blogger would come to your inner blogger's funeral.

One of the good things about the summer heat in Phoenix is the fact that the AC covers most noise from the neighbors, etc. Unfortunately, there is a dog that is constantly barking. I have not figured out which apartment he is in since I live in a large complex. I hope they move out before it cools down, otherwise I may have to encourage the apartment managers to do something.

yukonpaul is on to something. You need white noise. I recommend a sound machine or fan, either of which I use. Also, I could have brought you a few ambien to keep you until your prescription was available.

I've been an insomniac for years, and for years I've taken something for it. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to ambien, hives and everything, I've heard it works well. Well, anyway, blogs are for sleepless nights

That is too funny!! Back in the day, when My Sharona came out, my sister played that 45 record over and over and over... It got so bad that I had to sneak into her room, steal it and hide it under the living room rug! Sure, I know I'm going straight to hell for it, but I think I gave the world some much needed relief!

Ah, Its you again, Your Angel Feathers and your Blood Stains...
