Git Your Motor Running

What music gets your motor running hot and loud? What song is it that makes you to where you just can't stand it and you simply must, I say must wrap your hands around...............................................................................................................................................the steering wheel of your car? What gives you a lead foot, the kind that says stomp that pedal to the floor, let's roll!

There's a Sheryl Crow song that one of the lines is "you like to drive like Mario Andretti" and I do.

For me this is a very simple question, with just one answer. It's the Eagles and the song is Life In The Fast Lane.

What's your favorite pedal to the medal song?

Hey Mac I thought yours would be 'Something in the Air Tonight' Another Phil Collins song that makes me think of driving fast is 'Against All Odds' - not so much the song itself but because I remember the movie had a crazy street race/chase near the beginning. Just for the title, the Eagles' 'Take it to the Limit' comes to mind.

Personally, I don't need a song to activate my lead foot, I can put the 'pedal to the metal' with NPR's 'All Things Considered' or just about anything - I try to find ways to get me to slow down AND not go crazy.

Any of the California Surf-Car songs; Little Deuce Coupe; Dead Man's Curve, Little Old Lady from Pasadena ... somehow they say "gas is cheap and there is no substitute for CUBIC INCHES!" like no other.

And while gas sure is not cheap, there still is no substitute for cubic inches! I drive a Powerstroke diesel truck now, and will ALWAYS have at least one opera disk in the changer. IF some rice-burner with a boom box blasting pulls up next to me, I'm often likely to roll down the windows, turn up Pavarotti to full blast, then smoke all four tires when I leave 'em in the dust!

I may be old and gray, I can still play!

You mean I have to pick just one? Good grief, that's tough! Lately, the first movement from Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik has been a great highway song. I can repeat that piece for dozens of miles.

Singring and the Glass Guitar (an electrified fairytale) by Utopia
Steve Miller Band
Max Webster
Grateful Dead
King Crimson (21st Century Schizoid Man had my speedometer at 150 kph)
and a whole bunch of other stuff...

No single song for me. Anything loud, proud and with screeching guitars usually gets me going at anything!!!

Ah, Its you again, Your Angel Feathers and your Blood Stains...

I guess just about any song by Prince makes me speed up, especially 'Lil Red Corvette and Let's Go Crazy. Neither of which I've heard in a while. Also, Higher by Creed works too. That reminds me. I need to dig out those CDs and put them in my car.

Oh man, that's an easy one...maybe two.

1,) Song: Too Rolling Stoned Artist: Robin Trower

2.) Song: Mississippi Queen Artist: Mountain

Wow! If I hear either of these man forget it! Last time I heard "Too Rolling Stoned" I had my dog with me in the back seat, ya know. Well, I turned around and snapped his picture and this is what I got! I think I was maybe driving too fast. What do you think?

Anything hard gets my foot down but when i'm in the mood to really move then it has to be anything by Metallica, Korn, or Rob Zombie. Those are my Saturday night time to go raceing tunes.... All lined up on my i-pod and under my helmet as i try to push my ride to it's fastest run down the quarter mile.

Damn I have to say that most of them up there will do it for me, but If I have to chose just one, I'd have to go with a whole album. Motley Crue too fast for love, or alomst any of the songs from Len You can't stop the Bum Rush
