Well, well, well

Ok, so I went out today just to get out of the house. While out at my bar (home away from home) I got agitated by thinking what happens if I have a panic attack while here. This is getting really annoying! However, I'm going out again tomorrow to force myself out of the house. The help that I received yesterday should take about 5 days to truly kick in. I'm going to run tomorrow which takes the edge off! As with everything else, I'm just going to face this head-on. For those of you who've never known about this crap, anxiety sucks!

I have never had a panic attack so I don't know what you are going through but I'll leave something silly...Don't think about it.

Sorry, best I could come up with.

Although I am not a proponent of medication per se, it is often helpful to take a short acting benzodiazepine such as Xanax or Ativan to help with the panic (Klonopin, although effective and less addictive, takes too long to work). The medication can be used as a stop gap until you resolve the underlying issues with therapy.

If you need any assistance or information, please contact me.

Sincerely,
Chuck

greeneyes - Ya, that seems to be the trick. However, when you've associated it w/ places (such as work), events, etc., your brain doesn't forget it easily. I'll try that today and let you know how it goes.

caressmewell - You're too sweet to me! I'm fine, usually, when I'm at home, but I'll be more than happy to vent my frustrations when I get home! Thanks for your support.

mr. bambi - I'm with you. I've never agreed w/ medicine before. However, it's gotten to the point i will lose my job if i don't take care of it soon. I am now on lexapro with a backup of klonopin. klonopin will work well as the backup until lexapro takes affect in, I hope, about 5 days. I can do breathing techniques until it kicks in...

jynxgurl - Thanks for your kind words! I'm feeling much better now. I'm not all the way through anxiety, but I believe I'm through the actual panic attacks.
