Friends and Family

Since my last post was so miserable, I decided to try and reflect on what I'm very grateful for today.

Friends - I'm extremely happy about the friends that I've established over the last year and a half. My best friend and I continue to grow much closer only after knowing each other for going on two years. Through her, I've met a TON of great people who I can honestly say I'm proud to have in my circle. This past summer, we got together no less than once a week to grill out, play volleyball, get drunk and lay by the pool. I absolutely love it. My best friend's relatively new bf is a great guy. He treats her extremely well and I couldn't be happier for them both. He just closed on his first home on the 19th. She will be moving in w/ him in 2 months. Through her, he and I have established a great relationship. He knows that she's like a sister to me and has never complained with the amount we hang out. At first, I thought he might. I'm very happy they have each other through this season.

Family - I think my family knows that I'm a bit blue this season... My mother actually bought me a Dr. Phil dating book. That's a scary thought, especially for the fact that it's written for females. She's not one, usually, to pressure me about dating or getting married. I took this as a nice sign though. She knows I miss having a relationship. I'm not saying that the next girl that I go out w/ I will try to marry, but I really do miss having a fulltime relationship. It was soooooo much easier knowing where I was going every night. I went home. Now, I have to figure out which bar I might go to meet up w/ which friend every night just to eat dinner. Being a bachelor isn't all that it's cracked up to be. It was a lot easier, and a lot less expensive, when I could buy in bulk. My family, today, did go overboard on making sure I was in a great mood. I love them.

All for now (on a bit higher of a note),

Sweetie, I'm sorry you've been blue this holiday but it warms my heart to know that your friends and family have been there for you.
I feel that they are good things coming to you in the new year.

caress - yes, i'm very happy with how close they've been. It's not always been that way. I think you are right! '06 should be great. I appreciate your kind words and would have emailed you saying thanks, but your profile was a little intimidating to me...

ATLNooner - You are absolutely right. You've got a treasure as well with your girls.

silkysmooth - I am coming out of this pretty quickly. All of you have really helped a great deal. BTW - Very nice pics!

wise of you to focus your energy on things to be thankful for...

seems to me that what we give energy to grows...
we are like flowers in many ways..need sunshine and fresh air
to grow.

wishing you great joy in the new year!

Just a little food for thought.............
If you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you...

goddess - I agree that I should continue to just focus on the positive and not let things get me down. I'm never really like this. Thanks for you post. Have a great New Year's!

Naughty - Dr. Phil is an idiot! He really knows nothing. Just look at his weight loss book. I don't think it's working out for him!
