Easter Dinner

I went to the fam's house last night for dinner. Usually I stay for about an hour and leave. Last night, however, I stayed for six hours. I keep forgetting how much fun it can be to hang with the parents. We truly have a great relationship.

It started with dinner being served at 4:30. We had the radio going in the back ground (Bob Seger - not my choice) and enjoyed light conversation about work, retirement, taxes, etc. It quickly turned to politics (as if often does) and we got into a great conversation about the differences between our government and that of Canada (my home country). Being that I was raised here, in America, I don't really understand the parlimentary system, so I was quickly enlightened by my father and his best friend (which he felt like calling in Canada) who is a former school teacher and principle. While on the phone w/ this older cat, the topic changed to music (a topic I can debate for days) and I found out this guy's appreciation for good music is pretty wide spread.

After dinner, we moved to the patio for a few more drinks and conversation. Dad cranked Bob Dylan on the stereo... It was downhill from there. Anicdotes of those times and the true philosophers of the times... Wow. Drugs had to have had a major impact on that generation! LOL

I had a really nice day. It was fun to just chill with the family. They are great people and I'm happy to have them.

How was your Easter??

PS - No, I still haven't gotten laid. *sigh* My pimp-me-out post hasn't helped either. Damn, I say! Damn!

Easter was fun. It rained outside so we had 5 under 5 running amok through the house. It was the best gathering I've experienced in years. Glad you had a nice one.

Wow! you have so much going on at the moment. the not drinking, new diet, missing your New One. It's great you're not depressed. Count your blessings and remain at peace.
