Viewing profiles-related issues

Subject of my next question to the Advice Forum. Should I continue to hide my identity and the fact I viewed a members profile? Not real deep but I want members, especially womens ideas and suggestions. Here's why: I'm the type of guy who's everywhere, going in all directions. Especially when I've submitted a post and I'm awaiting the review,..the post...the votes...then finally....the responses(hopefully I'll respond to other questions, check old threads, follow ideas. In doing so I may view profiles. A lot of 'em. In following different ideas around the site I might view your profile several times in an evening. Two days later,..same thing. I don't want to leave too many "footprints" for 2 reasons. 1) I don't want women thinking I'm some cyber-stalker Lol 2) Not nearly as important but, I don't want some guy thinking I'm gay!

Since I'm just a "mag junkie" right now, the connections I'm making are friendships. I think the time to let someome know I viewed their profile is when I'm interested in trying to make a "sexual" connection. So I'm gonna ask for opinions..

I don't care what people think. I view the blog, I view the profile. Or if they look at my blog, and I haven't seen the name before or don't remember it, I look at the profile. sometimes you can attach a face to the blog, sometimes you get more info about the person who wrote the blog. When you get to my profile, you find out I'm straight.

Ok, so you view a profile several times. Cyber stalker?? Come on honey!

Can you trace/hurt/bother/cause acne because you viewed their profile? It's not a sexual come-on to know who you're talking to after all.

So what if you look at a man's profile? How in the world does that make you gay?? You can't find out where he's from, to gain any kind of perspective on his opinions/views if you don't know a bit about him sweetie. Viewing his profile is no more gay than responding to an email discussing the latest of the oddities you find on the Mag.

No need to be paranoid about it honey. If he does think you're gay - what's gonna happen? He can't trace/hurt/cause you to bounce checks....if he's straight, there's no issue at all. If he's bi/gay, he might (or might not) hit on you. You politely say "No thanks" and that's the end of it. No harm, no foul.

I hope this puts it in a bit better perspective for you sweetie

While reading the advice lines ( think i might be a junkie)I view profiles too, because some people have such a great sense of humour and they make me laugh...out loud, and I want to know more about them. There are some real great folks on here and I think untill you email someone directly it shouldn't matter who you view.Gayla
