Kevin Smith is GOD!

While on my quasi vacation last week, I saw Clerks II. I have been waiting for this film for years, ever since I heard that there was going to be a sequel called, "Clerks 2: Hardly Clerkin'", which later became "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back." When the "Clerks X" DVD was releaseed, it was announced that the sequel was in the works, and would be called, "Passion of the Clerks." I giggled at the prospect of Dante being literally crucified. It could have happened. I'm probably going to see it four more times before it leaves theatres, but here's the report after one viewing.

Dante and Randal are back! I own the Clerks cartoon on DVD, and while I would have loved for it to succeed, it altered Dante and Randal too much. Dante was a hapless loser, and Randal was a complete idiot. That's not the slackers I grew to love and worship (when Randal said, "You know I'm your hero" in the first film, it actually applied to me). Randal is casual, free-spirited, and absolutely brilliant, especially in terms of Star Wars. Dante, while constantly getting shit on, actually has it pretty good. He's smart, he's the face of every sensitive guy like me who can't get any, and yet, as Randal points out in this film, he has two girls after him in both movies, and apparently had 11 partners before that point. The man's a player who just doesn't notice it.

Christian Jay! It's a nice allegory to Jason Mewes's actual weed rehab, it was kind of ironically cool to see Jay dealing, but using superficial religion to stop using.

I will never watch "Silence of the Lambs" the same way again!

Rosario Dawson is officialy the hottest woman alive! Fuck Eva Longoria and her Tony Parker banging, can't act worth a shit desperate housewife bullshit self! Rasario rules!

Elias was a cool little second banana. I don't get how we went from uber-Christian, to Lord of the Rings, to him and the donkey, but it was funny none the less.

Porch Monkey 4 Life! It's okay. I'm taking it back.

It was a nice dichotomy to have moments of pure ascerbic, irreverant humor, and then to go to some sentimental moments that express the true friendship that Dante and Randal have.

The dance number was a huge, and well deserved, pot shot at John Hughes. Smith's a fan, so it was okay.

God Bless this film. God Bless Kevin Smith!

This weekend while it's 195 fucking degrees here, myself and 3 friends are having a KS marathon....all the good stuff ('cept for Jersey Girl).

You're right about Rosario Dawson, but she almost seemed too good for this movie. Too polished. Regardless, I thought she had the best performance.

Just remember...."You never go ass to mouth."

I'll see it again in the theatres cos some fuckchop ruined it for me.... [post 439824] but View Askew reigns supreme.

Mewes was on a LOT worse then weed my friend. When he and Smith were on the Opie and Anthony show talking about how he used to drop heroin into his eye, its hard not to cringe.

I agree about the dance number btw. IMO it really made the movie, not only was it a nod (i don't see it as a shot) towards hughes, but it also was a huge self joke on the movie. I mean all throughout C2, you're thinking god, is Smith taking himself THIS seriously? Then the dance number comes up and its like KS is basically saying "look, I can laugh at myself too."

Wasn't my favorite KS flick, but I liked it.

"Enough of this palaver, lets get the show on the road!"
