Is it Me?
Is it Me?
This is not a rant about a lack of sex. Don't worry. This isn't a rant of any kind, just merely, a musing.
I got an e-mail today from Syracuse, basically your standard donation solicitation, but it also happened to mention that reunions were coming up this fall for various graduating classes. And it got me thinking about my high school days.
My high school reunion isn't for four more years, but I took stock on all my friends. I had a close knit group, mostly in my year, some a year ahead, some a year behind. We all know how much I complain about the celibacy, but take this for its instance:
My high school "clique":
Eric L - Married June 2003, has a daughter, serving in the Air Force in Rammstein.
Eric E - Married April 2006
Shawn - My best friend, married two months ago. I wasn't even invited.
Tabitha - Married (and moved to CT I heard)
Melissa - Will marry Scott when he gets back from Iraq.
Kim - My little sister, engaged.
Brian and Katrina - Living together
Josh - Engaged twice, broke it off twice
Dave - No where to be found.
Mike - Same
Shane - Still living at home
I have no intention of getting married anytime soon. Hell, I don't even really want a relationship of any kind (not opposed to it, but I don't go looking for it). It's just weird. I've had one real girlfriend in my life, two women I fooled around with in high school, one lesbian makeout session, and 19+ months of involuntary celibacy. Yet all my friends, who are the same age as me, are either married, or heading that way.
Maybe it's a small town New York thing, I don't know. And like I said, I don't plan on going down that path anytime soon. God knows I almost did a couple years ago. But what does it mean, when everyone I know is tied down, and I can't even get a date, much less laid?
Okay, weird musing over. And now for something completely different (10).

If anything, it means those other ppl have decided to settle down. You, on the other hand, are holding onto being young and single. As far as your dry spell goes, eventually you'll break out of it and find someone who "gives you some". I grew up in a small town (pop.5000) where everyone knew everyone and it seemed like no secrets could be kept. My friends and I would go cruise for chicks in other towns where no one knew us and our history (antics), LOL. Might want to try that.|

Enjoy your life while you are young, I was married and had a kid by the time I was your age. I missed out on a lot of fun!|
I'll have a cafe, mocha, vodka, valium latte to go please!
Good girls go to heaven.....bad girls go down!!

Yes, Oh, you now have 20 points. However, I'd prefer if you messaged me with your answers, so as not to give them away. If you can't message me, that's fine, forget I said anything, and keep building up the points to redeem fabulous prizes (check post, "I Get the Point.")|

Oh...I've been to three weddings this summer so far and two friends had babies.|
My "drink tequilla and get on stage with the band to sing "Mustang Sally" best friend from a few years back....just had triplets.
I dunno if it's you, but it is definetly me. Thankfully, I'm not too torn up about it......yet.
