Smileys Key

These are the official ones for everybody to use as copied from the blog "Smiley Key". They now work in groups (and elsewhere?)
:) :( ;) :(( B) :-S
:* :X :O X( :-$ :> :>
=(( :D : } >:) /:> / : > / : )
O:) L - ) : - & : 7 : / : |
: P = P ~ I ) : " > : ) ) : ?
: - Y : - 0 } =D% = ) ) ## # - O
: - S S : - " : - h ^ : - J % - ( : - w
| - ( d ^ : ) ^

The following only display correctly when veiwed by paying members: (so hopefully I typed them right)

~^~ ~ ^ ~ *Y* * Y * @!@ @ ! @ (Y) ( Y )
o-o o - o {=} { = } ;!; ; ! ; >>! > > !
...\8 . . . \ 8 \8b \ 8 b =8b = 8 b /8b / 8 b
\8 \ 8 =8 = 8 /8 / 8 ?* ? *
happym; h a p p y m ; happyf; h a p p y f ;

Some "undocumented" smilies that have cropped up: (use at your own risk)

: [ * : o ) [ : ) O ) 8 ) : E
@ : ) ~ : ( ] : ) { : ) } : ( > > : (
8 : ) : # : ^ ) % ) : C B : )
: @ : 0 - : ) = : ) - : ( = : (
: I : Q : { ) :') : ' ) :'( : ' ( : ~ )
: * ) C = : ) ] ; ) : ) 8 + - : ) [ : ]

*note: many work with or without the "nose" (the middle dash). This can be a problem alot with the letter based ones. Also, with some letter capital does not matter : p : P both give but with some it matters like B ) lower case b) does nothing.

this is a real peculiar one, any time a quote " is followed by a parend ) it does this ")
yep, it leaves the quote in, but the parend itself, becomes winking guy??? I don't get it.

I have made a fairly exhaustive search of everything that can be built outta US standard keyboard chars as "hats", "eyes", "mouths" or "noses" while using the standard replacements on each repetition. No I have not checked every three char combination, that's alot! Plus some of the more complex ones like the clown or chef (4 chars!) I only know of because others have used them. If you know of any that I have missed, please lemme know, and I will add it to the charts. Thanx -

***ps, these little buggers are still wrecking havoc. I can't get the font command to work right on this post at all. I think the bracket based icons are f'ing up the bracket based font command. >

PS, for anyone tinkering with the new Colors options, Smileys are "anti-aliased" versus a white background. This means they look funny, have a weird halo, or odd chunky bits floating around them if you use dark colors for any background elements (Mostly "Secondary Table" itself, and "Primary Table, Row1") Most light greys and pastels are close enough the Smileys still blend well.

This thread makes use of the fact you can set colors for individual threads which over ride the main colors set for your blog.

hrm...BLING now poses some possibilities for making custom smilies. Just not animated ones.

ugh, I'm reduced to a generic ms-paint tho. They need an Upload Image option!!!

yeah new ones get discovered occasionally

the more complex the less likely they just appear accidentally. unlike

I'm making some smiley bling, too. A screen shot, followed by paste into Photoshop does the trick. They're fun little projects for those of us with only a 20 x 20 bling grid.

So far,
, , ,

In my groups with background colors, I just fill in the white space of the square with whatever color code, and the smileys *appear* to have an invisible background.

how do you "make" the bling??? do you still have to go pixel by pixel and manually figure each RGB from the photoshop? Even at 20x20 that's 400 times. I've not got the patience for that. Dunno why there's no upload function.

I may have to steal some of yours tho.
