If you've never riden...

... then it is hard to describe fully - for part of the experience simply doesn't translate into words. Some are too afraid to ride - much less be the driver. I do not fault those - my first attempt to drive one left me - shall we say not wanting to do that again? It was on a friend's souped-up yamaha capable of 10 second quarter miles - I popped a wheelie in 2nd gear. I wasn't trying to - the bike was just that fast and I was that inexperienced! So I stayed away...

Until last year that is... I took the MSF course and then bought my first bike. Once I got away from traffic on the mountain roads, I began to understand why people ride: there is a sense of freedom to it... and a feeling of being more connected with my surroundings - and dare I even say - I feel more alive! When you put all those feelings together - and mix in the wind - that's when it becomes more difficult to explain. Even with the fact that you must pay more attention to driving a motorcycle than to a car, I find the experience both relaxing and exhilarating- every single time! Women especially find the vibrations exciting (we like them too, but we also get the benefit of how much they like them *grin*)...

So, to those of you that have never riden, but wonder what all the fuss is about? I say that you will only know by going for a ride - whether it's in the front, or wrapping your legs around the vibrations from behind and just enjoying the scenery. I'm willing to bet afterward you'll be saying, "Wow - when can we go again?" - or - "I'm ready to ride now" and in a whisper, "and I don't mean the motorcycle, baby"

Hello there,
I just got back from Hendersonville, NC and wow I loved it. Perfect road conditions for riding...only problem is I didn't have my bike! Looking to come back in a couple of weekends (with bike in tow) and was wondering if we could go riding?

Randy

I dont even know these folks, but I like them. You can tell they have a passion for life.
We all have our passions and they tend to skew our perceptions, (AINT THAT A GREAT THING)
They love their bike, that makes them not remember the bugs in their teeth, the idiot who just had to go when you are only 2 seconds away, the freezing cold mornings, the suffering hot setting at redlights , oh lest us forget the all important road rash. ( You haven't lived until you try to make love to your wife when it feels like Satan gave you a bath in kerosene).
Thank GOD women feel about us like we feel about our bikes.
She can ignore that time you just came home from fishing feeling all frisky,(Smells like fish taste like chicken?) when we sat at the dinner table and just couldn't hold that poot, (Usually when her mothers there),when we came home with them toys when we know we shouldn't.(IE THE BIKE)
Because us men are just like our bikes, if we are a good enough ride they forget all that other shit, Thank GOD for passion, why the hell else would they put up with us?
