A Child Remembered

The most precious gift two people can share is the life of a child that they have made together. The most tragic thing a parent can have happen is to lose a child. I dedicate this to the life of baby carter.

Carter, this is daddy
I say from far away
I wish that I could hold you
And see you everyday

My strength and my love
Was not enough to keep you here
I am sorry that I failed
Now I know you have no fear

Your mommy and your daddy
We both love you very much
I know that we'll be with you
You will one day feel our touch

I want to show you how to shoot
And throw a ball or two
Maybe do some fishing
All the things I love to do

You began our little angel
An angel you are still
I feel your love shine down on us
I know it always will

I wish I could be with you
And help pour down the rain
But I still have a job to do
So here I must remain

I love you and I miss you
My tears tell me this is true
I'll leave you till tomorrow
Then I'll talk again to you

i understand where you are coming from. i too have lost a beautiful baby boy. he was only 6 months old at the time and it can truly tear a person up to lose them. not many couples can stand the loss and stay together. i give you my condolences and pray you find the peace you need.*BIG HUG AND KISS*

Beautiful poem! Carter must have been very special for God to give him a place in heaven so early. My prayers are with you and your family!
One of my best friends lost their baby to SIDS years back. Nevada was only six weeks old. I had to carry her into the hospital. It was a very painful experience at first. A day I will never forget. She wasn't my child, but I did feel some of the pain you experienced. Today with a better understanding I have one extra angel looking over me! May God and your angel be with you always!

I am sorry too for your loss...it somehow makes you feel more connected to talk about those that are no longer with you. This has certainly been a trying experience on us and only time will tell how things end up. Thanx for your support.

Thank you and I agree, Carter was very special. I know they will be with me. Perhaps with research we will one day have healthier babies to love for a lifetime. Thanx again for the support.
